Plenty for Ange to consider but in a very good way as that squad will need trimming and stating the obvious that central defence needs sorting.

My take on Lo Celso was that he is fully aware that he is in the shop window also Perisic.

The youngsters in Destiny and Sarr most definitely auditioning to push for a starting XI place, also Devine living up to his name get him in that squad!

Looking forward to how this pre season pans out as more and more will get the ethos of attack attack attack.

I know it’s being perhaps too hopeful with the track record of Levy etc but surely get two CBs. We’ve been crying out for this under numerous managers!

We are going to need more than a slight improvement. Ange keeps saying regarding the step up to the Prem that there is no difference as it's all relative. Well I see his point but the difference with the Prem is you'll get punished on the counter far more because of the quality of the opposition in the counter attack and the finishing. CB is and always has been the most important need for us for this to work and until we get that addressed we are going to see Ossie type score lines that we are not on the winning side of.

Sort your shit out Levy and sign the deal we had agreed for VdV and stop trying to make every deal like a Kays catalogue purchase from the 70's/80's.

Yeh, that’s how it looked, particularly first half. Most of these players have only had a week and that includes travel. If they’ve made that kind of progress in a week it’s pretty impressive as it’s a complete 180 on how we played last year. I’m not surprised the gaps appeared when it broke down. The full backs didn’t quite fill the gaps properly and then the poor defensive quality was exposed. Once they get any time working on it I’m sure we’ll improve.

Exactly this: give the guy those two extra and crucial ingredients and there we go. Not going to throw my dummy out yet but if nothing is done by Brentford away what the hecko!

But this is where Levy decides how much ambition he has - and how interested he is in finishing in the top-5. We have a good core. But we have a few glaring holes that must be fixed if we want to really contend for CL spots. We can't just paper over them, and it would be a disservice to the other players to ignore those positions.

When you're not in Europe, it's a great opportunity to get quality over quantity. The football side needs to sell the improvement in team spirit and saved wages to Levy. Surely replacing 6 players with 2 should be music to DL's ears. If we have to, sell all of those players bar Sessegnon for £10m or less.

How good would it have been to see VDV getting game time out there right now and for him to get a head start on learning the style of play. So annoying

I thought the holding role suited Hojbjerg. Only thing lacking was his movement when the CB’s had the ball, he’s always quite static in those situations. He sprayed some nice passes around too. Udogie and Emerson were really good, as was Lo Celso. Perisic was good, but I think I’d that was Son out there, he’d be whipping those balls across the goal first time (as we saw in the training drills yesterday).
Next game we may see a mix of todays two teams?

Harsh reality - but if Lenglet were the back-up LCB - it would be an improvement over anyone we have on the roster right now - particularly on the left side.

I think it's the type of game we may see a lot this season...lot of possession, lot's of chances created but ultimately defence letting us down.

We need to get the defenders we need in ASAP so Ange can start working with them. Hard for him to put the structure in place now when you know personnel will change. We need to be quicker here in getting the players we need. It is absoltuely critical, it should be priority number one.
