He is a gamble but so are all signings, particularly young players. Is it a bigger risk than relying on Lo Celso who, let's be honest, hasn't looked like he wanted to be here until recently. I think Deki will move more centrally over time and will be the rotation option for Maddison.
I mean Fati is a left winger and Gio is a CM/AM. If anything we already have 3 LW so not sure why we need a 4th. Beyond that I don’t know how many games of Fati you have seen post injury but he’s not the same player. Mentally I’m not convinced he will get back to where he was.

And yes it would be a bigger risk imo than Gio as he has shown in multiple teams he can perform in an attacking system at club level and internationally. I think it would be a big mistake to sell Gio this late in the window.

Taking Fati might mean Barca then go for Felix and that gives A.Madrid money for PEH.

We could then get a new midfielder if Lo Celso is part of the deal.

It also depends if Ange thinks Lo Celso will be in his plans long term.

2 disasters then. 1 letting Gio go and 2 signing Fati who is a monumental injury risk and doesn't really fit the profile of winger we need anyway.

I don’t know where we stand with POK but he’s saying Devine going to Port Vale on loan. Apparently should be confirmed soon all going well.

Will delete if not allowed of course
Prefer a League 1 loan where he plays every week to a Champ loan where he's in and out of the side.

Minutes have to be the main priority so hopefully that's a good level for him to get some serious game-time.

Would rather keep Lo Celso as he is perfect as a rotation option with Maddison and perfect for Ange's system. Barcelona need funds from the Fati sale so i'm sure they would rather that than some kind of swap.
They did just have two injuries to their midfield which might make them more inclined to push for Gio. But you are probably right.

Also worth noting Fati is a Mendes client and he’s trying to move him out so Barca can get Felix, another one of his clients.

Have you not read or seen his injury record?

These are legitimate concerns and absolutely the reason why Barcelona are touting Fati.
He was only out for 6 days last season (2 games missed) from a bruised knee. 2 seasons prior to that weren’t great but most important season was last year and he seems to have come through that relatively unscathed.

Yeah think we'll need decent cover for Maddison this season so not a fan of losing Lo Celso as he's perfect for that role.

Only way it makes sense to me is if Ange also sees Kulu as an attacking 8 and this opens up the RW for Fati. Personally I'm doubtful Kulu is as good a fit for that 8 role as Lo Celso, though. And isn't Fati more of a left winger anyway...where we're stacked.

Doesn't really add up.

Fati's potential is absolutely sky high. Alot higher than afew on here realise , I'd say.

Xavi had some pretty strong words just afew days ago about them not even considering letting Fati go though.

Just for context, re Fati injuries and anyone not wanting to see Gio swapped for him - Gio has missed over 50 games (286 days) through injury since he joined us (according to transfer market).

I've no opinion on Fati as a player, and i do like Gio as a player, but judging by that injury record, it's long odds on that Gio will have injuries again this season, so he's hardly one to rely on either !

He’s got a very important part of his knee missing. He’s busted. They wouldn’t be selling him otherwise.

Doesn’t mean we should swap him for another crocked player. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Perhaps read @Ghost Hardware post above - he's not the same player post ruptured meniscus.

We would be coveting him on reputation alone and smacks once again at this twilight of the transfer window of opportunism rather than what's required to aid Ange in his efforts and who can be accommodated best for his system.

I would have thought he would be better off in the Championship. But the important thing is he plays regularly and in a style to suit Ange. Just confirmed on Spurs website.

It really depends on how the deal is structured, he has great potential but his injuries are a risk. He was fit most of last season however.
