Wait, let me get this straight……Brennan Johnson at the age of 22 with some of the best physical attributes as a winger in the league has a very limited ceiling coming off 9 goals in his first year in the Premier League. Yet, you determined a kid playing in one of the most open leagues in the world at relatively the same age range is a better option when his production was less on a top team in an easier league?
These types of takes are laughable.
For starters he's 2 years younger, that's a lot of development time (8 goals btw).
Secondly, if you actually analyse the players, watch them, look at their raw skillsets etc then imo it's clear Bakayoko has a higher 'potential' ceiling because he has better technique, better control, much better 1 on 1 dribbling ability and still has the physical qualities you mentioned with Johnson.
Analysing Johnson's style of play, he suits counter attacks and transitional teams where as I feel Bakayoko has a more well rounded game that translates to a better side who will dominate possession (but still have counter chances too). Therefore I believe he has a higher ceiling and he would also cost half the money.
I would apply the same logic to Nico Williams too.
So you can laugh all you like but some of us enjoy watching players in other leagues and scouting them. Just because you may know nothing about them don't assume we are all the same.
To me, spending £100 million Gallagher and Johnson is absolutely nuts and a waste of money and resources. For that kind of money, go and get actual ceiling raisers or super high potential players.
