Great little bit in the fan forum which I have nearly finished watching , said with a smile by Levy , Maddison has been warned about coming to the training ground in a red car.
Madders reply, "Boss, I'll change my car when you change the red sponsor on the shirt."

Just finished watching it. Quite enjoyed it and glad they put the whole event up as they werent going to. It went pretty much how I thought it would. Good natured and a bit of fun like these things should be.

Levy was never going to get a grilling and wouldnt answer the questions straight anyway. If anything he almost admits how he fucked up bringing in Conte and Mourinho. I think he needed to be more careful about calling them big managers and wanting to go another way with Ange, because from all I've seen about Postecoglou, he isnt coming here for us to make up the numbers, he wants us to win something and something big. If he cant do it here I have no doubt he will jump ship for a bigger club and do it there. He isnt here to do us favours, lets hope Levy keeps him sweet.

Watching now. The women's manager is really impressing me with the way he speaks. Hope that translates on to the pitch.

"Keep questions concise"

Second guy takes forever to get his question out. Now that does grind my gears!

Also when Daniel says "of course" to the buy-back clause question, it felt like that was said in jest.

So - not seen the whole thing yet - but just this clip put out by Tottenham makes me a little angry.

Levy is talking about how "We've got our Tottenham back" as though there was someone else responsible for making that happen for the last 5 years.

Maybe its a little out of context - but this is what Spurs have put out.

Nothing more than a PR event.
Daniel saying 'We've got our Tottenham back' is as much cringe as him saying COYS.
Not falling for it Daniel.
But still glad that Ange is at the helm though.

Or another way to look at it is that this is as much of an admission of fucking up that we'll get from Levy.
I see why he went for Jose and Conte, heck, I was all for it at the time but hindsight shows us that it was one bad appointment following another.

I think Levy realises this but he's hardly going to come out and say that they were bad appointments, so instead, what he's saying that he's trying to rectify the mistakes he made.

And yes, it would appear that we do have our Tottenham back so instead and of giving Levy grief for his (understandable imo) mistakes, maybe we could give him a little credit for recognising them and reversing?

I've not yet watched the whole thing but from the clips I've seen so far, Levy himself seems to be caught in Ange's spell so to be honest, I'm not too bothered about how we got there, I'm just happy we are where we now are.

There aren't many chairman that haven't made plenty of bad decisions, especially during such a lengthy tenure.

Let's just hope that Levy is properly on board with the way Ange wants to take the club and we could just be on the start of a good journey.

I think it's as close as we'll get to Levy admitting that he took his eyes off the ball and fucked up.
That he got swept up in the hype that we were ready to take the next step into the realms of the "big clubs", while losing sight of what we should be all about as Spurs.
I think he listened to all the wrong people and made bad choices based on muddied waters, hopefully he's now a bit clearer on what we are and in Ange, will have a manager who is honest, truthful and not prepared to sugar coat things.

Levy has often been accused of having too many different opinions in his ear, if he now believes Ange is someone he can trust, that can only be a good thing.

Agree with that. He's a very awkward person and as much as you appreciate him coming out and being transparent he's extremely cringe to watch.

Did anyone see themselves on camera at the event? Looked like a cool thing to be a part of.

This is what I don't get with our fanbase. They have wanted him to do more stuff like this and when he does he still gets villified and laughed at? Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

Thank you, someone else that sees him for what he is.
He really has no Shame.
At least Ange had some class about him to mention Harry.

Always someone else's fault.

"The frustration from not winning and the pressure from maybe some players and a large element of the fan base that we need to win, we need to spend money, we need to have a big manager, a big name. And it affected me. The strategy was to bring in a trophy manager and we did it twice. You have to learn from the mistakes."

Then what the absolute fudge was your excuse for Nuno, then, Daniel? The fans and the players sure as hell weren't pressuring you to hire him, and he's certainly no "trophy manager."

Can’t believe he’s got the stones to trot out “we’ve got our Tottenham back”

He thinks we’re all mugs and he’s lucky we’re doing well at the time of the forum.

COYS , Trent. ❤️

My main takeaway from the forum is that, as always, we are all going to 'read' into the answers what we need to align with our existing opinions about Daniel Levy.

Can I just ask how you got vilified from what I said?

Indeed.

I've been seeing an awful lot of posts lately accusing others of misrepresenting or looking to twist quotes to extremes to attack Levy etc, whilst simultaneously doing exactly the same to the posters they are actually accusing in the first place.

Was a general statement and not directed at you or what you said. I have seen plenty across social media twist what he has said without seeing how he says it and in its full context. Just look at a few posts above you saying it is nothing more than a PR event, one saying he has no shame etc.

He is vilified by some in our fanbase, there is no denying it.

I think people should watch it before pre judging Levy's quotes.
Prejudging Levy quotes?! That surely never happens!!! ;)

The whole event was fairly sanitised I thought, but if it had just been an hour of fans making angry accusations towards Levy we would have learned nothing. And if we were owned by a Middle Eastern investment fund or a wacky billionaire it would have been exactly the same (in my opinion).

So in a way, I prefer that the prejudgements remain online and the event itself ended up played with a straight bat. It was a PR event but it's better than having no event at all. The thing I liked most myself was getting a blend of answers between Levy/Ange/Son, which wouldn't have happened if it was just people asking Levy "what about Nuno then?".

Some people will always despise the man and that's fine. Some will slam him for being out of touch with the fans and then slam him for saying "we've got our Tottenham back", which again is fine. Some will think that everything he says in public is a lie, and they might actually be correct! Just gotta ride the wave of it all I reckon.

My point about pre-judging isn't about what he (or in fact anyone) says, it's how he says it and what question was asked and being answered etc. Twitter/X aggregators will just take the words out of context, watching the full fan forum puts it into context with the tone of voice, body language and everything else.

If people have watched it and still feel that way, then fair enough.
