Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov says he would be "flattered" if AC Milan follow up their interest in taking him from White Hart Lane to the San Siro. (The Times)

- So would anyone be flattered
Barcelona have put striker Thierry Henry up for sale after less than a season at the Nou Camp, alerting Newcastle, Spurs, Manchester City and West Ham in the process. (Daily Star)

- I'm sure Henry said he'd never go to Spurs

 He wouldn't go to any of the "alerted" teams!

The tabloids constantly fight for dumbest football writing award. Just when you think the NOTW is the most stupid, the Star outdoes them.

As to the Times, just mischievous use of quotes but at least AC Milan would be more tolerable than ManUSA.

I know it's column inches and sales but they still piss me off. Hate the press, hate the press.

Henry is a shadow of the player that terrorised premiership defences a year or so ago. He should never have passed a medical at Barca and has been crap every since he has played for them. Be amusing if he goes to the barcodes

I cant see him ever being close to the player he was the season before last. For that reason I dont think he would come back to the premiership. I can see him going to one of France's bigger clubs. Maybe a short term Benzema replacement if he goes.

Absolutely. God, I was in Barcelona for the Getafe game this weekend and he looked like he'd rather be anywhere else but there. Not sure if this extends to Newcastle though…

Truth is, Henry wouldn't get in our starting 11 at the mo. Oh, and he wouldn't come to us in a million years. But mainly the first one

There's more chance of Lenny pulling on our shirt.

If CL football rather than money is what might take Berba away, there's no certainty whatsoever he'll get it with Milan next season. It's not beyond the bounds of possibility that they won't even get a UEFA place.

Thats very true as Fiorentina are going to make life very difficult for Meeeelan trying to finish 4th. I suspect Ronaldinho will end up there rather than Berbs but a lot depends on CL football. Wouldn't surprise me if Juve make an enquiry for Berba as they will be back in the CL next season and will want to really challenge for the scudetto.

Even if Henry came (which he never would) he won't be as good as he was at Ar5ena1 and they'd have every right to remind us of that.

Berbatov is in his prime and i'd be loathed to lose him but losing him to a club outside the PL would obviously be easier to take.

If Berbs goes to any other team I hope it's Juve.

Graham Hunter brough up a very valid point on Milan though. The lifestyle and how you are treated at Milan are second to none. Kaka signed and extension to his contract mid-season when the prospect of CL next term was even then regarded as slim. Pirlo, plucked from Inters reserves, has also pledged.. Pato will stay etc etc the list will be endless of curreent players wanting to staywith Milan. Who goes from thier squad will be ones kicked out the door not ones wanting to go.
It's therefore not a totally unrealistic senario that lots of top players would skip to the san siro merrily at the expense of one season in the CL or even one more season. Dimi would be one of them.

I think you're spot on there mate. Berba looks like he was made for Milan. Silkly cruising down the streets with his jumper draped over his shoulders, sitting down sipping on a cappa frappa latte. that's definately his scene.

You think that would appeal more to him than Tottenham High Road??:)

Henry needs a midfield genius to make those killer through balls for him to run onto and quick one-twos. Unless we can get such a midfielder, he won't get a smell of goal with us.

I think he may very well end up as Beckham's opponent somewhere over the main.
