Jose when he had some charm was very well suited to international management. It's the only place for him to really go now if he wants to manage at a level and achieve.Yeah, I'm totally with you there.
As for naming a replacement, jeez, I wouldn't know where to start.
I think Howe may be suited to international work but Potter not so much.
Klopp would be great but as you say, I'm not sure I can see a German in charge of England.
A couple of years back i may have even gone for Jose but his time with us has scuppered that idea, which is a shame because I actually think he'd suit the international game.
Apart from that, I haven't the foggiest.
Who's managing the U21's? At one stage the FA were trying to create some kind of pathway through the ranks but I'm not sure if that's still the case and I reckon they'll want a "name".
I think Lee Carsley is the under 21 manager, whether he's seen as a future England manager I have no idea.
I've always thought managing at club level is very different to managing the national side. So it seems strange to hire based on how well managers do at club level. Though what other thought process you can follow, I have no idea.
