It's not like we haven't had time to prepare for it. We've known about this transfer for weeks.

Still a pisser, though.

Gutted, but that's football. Players come and go but Tottenham Hotspur goes on, Hoddle, Waddle, Gascoigne, Klinsmann etc all left but we moved on then and we have to do it again. Hopefully we can pick up someone to replace him so come Christmas we'll all be saying 'Robbie who???'

Personally, I wish Keane all the best at Liverpool, I know a lot of us are pissed off that he's left after his quotes a few weeks ago but he's been a good servant for the club, scored over 100 goals and would probably still be a spurs player if it wasn't for the club he supported as a boy being interested in him. Cheers Robbie.

In a statement issued on Monday night, Keane said: 'I would like to place on record my thanks to the board, players and fans of Tottenham for the past six years, which were the best and most enjoyable of my career to date.

'I will never forget them. I would specifically like to thank chairman Daniel Levy for understanding, that, as a fan, joining Liverpool is a lifelong dream of mine and one I couldn't let pass me by.

'I hope one day the Spurs fans, who have been brilliant to me, can understand this too.
'I have only good things to say about my time at Tottenham and expect them to go from strength to strength under Juande Ramos and Daniel Levy.'

Has anyone else seen this statement? Makes me feel sick

I'll get neg, but
Not from me,
even though i'm disapointed in the way he went we still managed to get 20 million for him when a year back the price was £10-12m
just hope we bring in a decent replacement who goes on to score 30 goals and we all forget Keane.

I've not seen it but was hoping that Robbie would take time to address his support that he's left behind. The guy is special and one day maybe, we'll see him back in our colours, like Teddy. Good luck to the fella.

Considering it, i got Carricks the year before he left to, and Keane's last year....

And i had King on the back of one and he spent most of the season injured.

May hold off on my next order....

Thank you Robbie Keane for all the great memories and the years you put in - I won't be bitter as I can understand moving to the team that you loved when you were a kid - it's like any of us playing for Everton and moving to Spurs when a bid came in, tbh. Good words on his part, too.

And 20 milion for a 28 year old is a fantastic piece of business.

It's good business financially, I know there's no loyalty among players in football these days, but nevertheless I'm just so gutted. After what he said back in May, I just can't forgive this to him. Never.

Anyway, thanks for the years with us. I hope you will regret leaving us.

what sickens me most is that it'll only be a matter of weeks before he's kissing their badge, just like he did with us only a month or so ago.

Very, very happy with the fee given the circumstances. 20m is amazing money for Keane.

But we should still have stuck by the complaint...

Et tu, Rez?

No possibility, then, that his reported willingness to stay if we wanted him to got a response along the lines of: 'That's very good of you, Robbie, but Juande's told me he wants Arshavin or Villa because he doesn't rate you that highly, so this solves a very tricky problem for us.'

For about the bazillionth time in the last month, we have no idea of what's been going on behind the scenes.

Anyway, good luck to him. The Keane is dead, long live the Keane, whoever he is.

Levy said Robbie had his head turned and handed in a transfer request to play for Liverpool and Robbie has thanked the club for letting him move to his once in a lifetime dream club and you still think it's a cover-up you cynical old sod?!

I'm sure I read a recent story that he'd turned his dream club down once already as a youngster to join the mighty Wolves.

You did. It wasn't a recent story either. He was a teenager and decided he'd actually stand a chance of getting some first-team action with Wolves. As you would.
