Et tu, Rez?

No possibility, then, that his reported willingness to stay if we wanted him to got a response along the lines of: 'That's very good of you, Robbie, but Juande's told me he wants Arshavin or Villa because he doesn't rate you that highly, so this solves a very tricky problem for us.'

For about the bazillionth time in the last month, we have no idea of what's been going on behind the scenes.

Anyway, good luck to him. The Keane is dead, long live the Keane, whoever he is.

I know you're right SS57. I'm just being bitter.

Sad to see him go as he was, to me, a Spurs legend.

But there is no room for sentimentality and ultimately he wanted to be at Liverpool rather than us so we all have to move on.

Cheers for the good times Keano but I don't wish you good luck at Liverpool. In fact I hope you're looking at a league table next May realising you made the wrong decision.

If Keane was so willing to stay why did he make a transfer request? I always thought a transfer request was something formal and in writing which is generally used as a last resort due to the huge wedge of dosh players' stand to lose?

What we spend the money on has got nothing to do with it.

The point is we have sold a player for a sum of money that he is nowhere near worth.

I'm chuffed to bits today, no more arm waving theatrics from a complete fucking wimp who we have got an obscene amount of money for.

Once you put your own grudge against Keane to one side you'll see that £20m in the bank won't get you 20+ goals a season so of course it matters how we spend the money! And a player is only worth what a prospective buyer is willing to spend and if Keane can click with Torres and inspire Liverpool to greater things he'll earn his fee.

Keane got 23 goals and a hand full of assists in nearly 60 games though Dougal. Bent would get nearly that in 60 gaems without stretching the imagination too much let alone what a replacment might offer. Also considering Keane took the pens to start with and only scored 11 league goals?! thats not good enough for top 4, it's not good enough for top 6 most years.
The maths is all wrong, we've not lost 20 goals we've lost what robbie scored minus what the new striker scores. Considering hal our games consist of Uefa cup group stages, carling cup fodder + early fa cup games as well as 19 home games in the league it's not hard to picture any number of strikers scoring goals for tottenham.. Dave kitson would get over 10 in all comps. Are you seriously saying you doubt Arsharvin or milito or Bent wouldn't get up near 20? in 55 games? of course you don't really think that you're just sad and are not thinking clearly... and in the case of arsharvin he's likey to blow robbies asssits stats out the water too isn't he!?

I didn't say he couldn't be replaced by Arshavin, Milito or even Kitson (well no, he couldn't be replaced by Kitson, I am saying that now)! I said time will tell and we need to spend the money wisely, not be shouting from the rooftops that we got the money for him because if we don't spend it wisely we'll look bloody stupid. But as this is all hypothetical I'll refer you to my original point, time will tell.

That is how it's generally understood, yes. But if Keane told Levy that he'd like to go to Liverpool if the club was willing to release him that is also a request.

Shouldn't this thread get moved to general football now?

He's gone, lets get over it and move on.

Bent for 16.5m or Keane for 19m? I know which I'm going for.

Now let's get Arshavin and Bently. If Berba goes (hopefully not), it has to be for at least 30m, considering Keane's price, and then spend part of that on Villa or Huntelaar and move on.

Initially i was fuming, likening his act to that of Campbells. After that, i realised that i probably would have done the same in order to play for Spurs. However, since reading that he rejected the chance to go to Liverpool when he was 17 and chose Wolves instead, i simply cannot look at his pictured without feeling incredibly let down.

If he was that big a fan, he would have gone there when he was 17, end of discussion. In reality, he's just a typical money grabbing, disloyal footballer, but conveniently, he may have worn a liverpool shirt when he played in the park with his mates when he was younger and has declared that to making him a massive pool fan. If anyone cant see past that and genuinely think he's gone there for his 'love' of the club then i think they are being ridiculously generous to another one of these disgusting millionaire babies.
