Just seen on Gory Gory quotes from Advocaat from Zenit's site.
All three want out and they won't force them to stay but want big money.
There must be something rotten with Zenit with so many players wanting out and their under achievement this year but I'd have anyone of those, any two and if possible all 3.

Tymoshchuk and Arshavin would be great signings, but just think they are destined for Champs League clubs now. Not sure we would need Pogrebnyak after signing Pav.

Pavlyuchenko would not have the fame he has now from the Euro's to some extent if it wasn't for Pogrebnyak.

Pogrebnyak is actually russia's #1 striker, but through injury Pav took his place and shone at the euro's.

From an unbias view, Pogrebnyak is actually better then Pav from what ive seen from both players.

All players who would add something. Pogrebnyak the least, as we have Bent and Pav, b but he is arguably a better player - even if he would be new to the Prem and need to settle. Pavlychencho has had a first class attitude, as had Benty, so it's hard to see that all being messed up. Harry has a strong mentality in the dressingroom now.

Would love all three but it's too far gone with Zenit, who are like we were after a pig-headed arrogance at boardroom level, suffering for their sins. Lets hope other can learn from this stupidity. Arshavin has suffered, Spurs suffered, Ramos suffered...now Zenit can stew. I dont want them to have any of our cash at the end of the day. Tossers.

I would like us to get CB, LB, DM & SS, but i don't think Redknapp will look at one of these expensive signings. Althought it would be good to get Zhirkov, Tymoshchuk & Arshavin but All stars of eastern Europe

When did everyone become experts on Russian football  I've only ever heard of Arse shaving.

You boys have way too much time on your hands, and were eternally grateful. Could you please give us (less knowledgable fans) some info on each player?

Tymoshchuk is a 29 year old Ukraine national defensive midfielder who is extremely fit and covers the pitch well to break up opposition attacks although it doesn't really venture too much in his sides attacking half. As well as being a tough tackler, he is also a leader as he captained his previous club Shakhtar before joing Zenit and becoming their club captain, ahead of Arshavin who regularly captains Russia. The best thing I like about Tymoschchuk is when his team is under attack by the opposition he uses his own initiative and drops back to play as a third centre back/sweeper to help out his defense. Also I believe he is fluent in English so he shouldn't have any problems adapting to the English Premier League.

I want Zhirkov and Tymoshchuk..

They would solve much of our problems...

I agree, but Tymoschuk is a bit long in the tooth now. Zhirkov would be a perfect fit and I don't believe he'd cost an arm and a leg either. I'd love to see that signing in the next transfer window!!

the russian league is very corrupt. before last season there was rumours zenith would win. this year it will be/was (i dont follow the league so i might have the seasons confused, i i wont bother finding out..) some mid-size club celebratibg 50y or something. rubim i think its called. some journo said they would fix a win this season after the last one finished. if they did, itll be like everton winning the PL after someone had claimed in the summer that they had payed off everyone to win it.. doesnt prove much, but it does look fucking suspicious. Top players would want to get out..

Progrebnyak in my opinion isn't better than Pavlyuchenko. He's not miles behind but I don't think he looks anything like as sharp.

Tymoshchuk and Arshavin, as Dan Ashcroft has already said, would turn us into top 4 contenders in one foul swoop. Problem is it would probably cost nigh on £40m to bring them both here and I would've thought they'd have their sights set a little higher than Spurs.

Progrebnybak is more powerful and physical than Pav, but othwerwise they are virtually the same.

Tymoshcuk is a very very gd midfield player, would be interesting if he could adaptto the PL as I thnk he'd be a good holding midfielder

Arshavin, god knows whats going on and if worth it anymore!

If Harry wants all 3 then thats fine by me!!! And wth Pav already here we could become the Russian revolution.
Daniel Levi would like it coz it would save money on interpreters - only 1 for 4 players!
Frankly, I am tired of Spurs being linked with every footie player in the world, but it is interesting how Russian players have recently found a voice. Not so long ago they didnt even need to be told to shut up.

i just read it too, bayern is def in for tymoschuk. hoeness confirmed that he held talks with tymoschuk and that its now up to him if he wants to join or not. zenit want 16 mil euro.

So, when Hoeness turns up with a bank line for 16 million Euros, the price will suddenly increase to 20 million. Repeat ad nauseum.

Unless the capital flight from Russia has trashed the bank balance of Gazprom (who largely own Zenit), and they desperately need some foreign currency cashflow.

In which case, Tymoschuk, Arshavin and Pog may all go in January to enable the mobski to continue chowing on caviar, imbibing vodka, and, um, whatever they do with Natashas...
