People keep saying that Levy won't sign Fati without an option to buy, but that's exactly what he did with Lenglet. I guess you could argue that everyone knew Lenglet was going to be shite before we loaned him so it was immaterial... but still, there's recent precedent of us taking a player on loan with no buy option from Barcelona.

As a result of sacrificing a potential EFL cup run; the best outcome going forward would be to shift the old guard who played in that match (or didn’t make the squad) and have reminded us all they can’t provide the needed level. Fill the gaps in the squad the best we can with new signings and the rest with our U21 academy players who have been brilliant this season. We will be playing 1 game a week so we don’t need to carry all this deadwood. You say we need experience and leaders? None of these folk are and it’s better to give the first teamers leadership experience now.
  1. Davies
  2. Sanchez
  3. Hojbjerg
  4. Skipp
  5. Lo Celso
  6. Dier
  7. Tanganga
  8. Reguilon
  9. Lloris
  10. Ndombele
  11. Perisic (he’s gone next season, might as well build up new players)

I'd start Fati on the left, Son up front, and rotate Johnson and Kulu on the right if everything goes through on Friday.

Still think it'll be one but if we pulled off the unlikely I've done a U turn on Gio. I'd sell and use Kulu as a 10 . That's his place in this system for me

Huh, looks like we're bending over for Barca once again. Who would have thought..

So Fati, a wonderfully talented young player who has had terrible injury problems.
this leads us with the same issues we have had for many, many, many weeks - we donzmt have a rotation / competition option for Deki and we have not added the other centre back this squad needs.
I realise this rebuild may take several windows but these two seemed like a priority ....

The lack of players leaving is a real concern at this point.

We’ve surely got to be looking at a minimum of 6-7 exits in the next two days in order to trim the squad, particularly if we’re planning to sign two more players.

Just feels like we’re going to be short in defence & attack.
A real worry that we haven’t spent the Kane money sufficiently.

So 2 days to go from now we need to:
Sell:
Lloris
Reguillon
Tanganga
Dier
Ndombele
Possibly one of PEH or Lo Celso
Possibly Sessengon or Gil

Buy:
CB
WF
ST

Yea it ain’t happening as per usual the leaving it all to the last minute never ever works for us.

It is absolutely astonishing to me that we've sold Kane for c.£100m and then likely failed completely to replace him. And they knew he was going all summer.

We simply can't rely on Richarlison all season.

I thought selling Kane was the right move given the money we could reinvest. Turns out I'm the mug and Levy as always thinks we can make do.

We'll get a couple of loans put tomorrow (who'll be back next summer and we'll fail to shift them then too) and we'll get a cheapo Levy special deal on deadline day who will quickly become yet another player we need to move on.

Still see a lot of that happening tbh, except a ST which isn’t, Ange said as much a few weeks ago.

Well, maybe if we try the exact same thing next year things will work out differently?

Popcorn at the ready for Levys post transfer window summary....

Not sure how he can sugar coat losing the clubs greatest ever player in the modern era and not replace him whilst having a net spend of 0

We should player bingo on the number of times he mentions financial fair play

Issue is the money was reinvested but was reinvested on the signings prior to kane sale
