Soldado, Defoe, Paulinho, Chadli, Sandro, Kapoue, Lennon, Dembele, Lamela, Holtby and (apparently?) Townsend.

All of these players will need to play games to be considered for the WC.

and no 20 games is not going to get them into their respective teams as none of them are shoe ins for their squads.

Obviously it will (should) be good for us, as the best ones you would hope will rise to the top, but there could be some big names lost in the fallout...

Think AVB will need to get a new door to his office come the new year.

And this is assuming we are doing well, if we are doing badly then magnify that by ten.

If we sign Willian, and either keep Bale or sell him and get Lamela, I think we'll have a squad more than capable of not only finishing top 4, but also competing for a cup.

We could (with a bit of luck) seriously have an FA Cup or Europa League title to our name this time next year.

Anyone else think AVB might sign a new contract once all this spending is done? I think Levy will want to ensure that he doesn't go to one of the elite clubs next summer after showing so much faith in his vision for the club.

I just don't understand how we will even line up if we have Bale, Lamela, Willian, Lennon, Townsend, Chadli, Holtby, Sigurdsson, [maybe] Carroll, Dembele, Paulinho, Capoue, Sandro competing for 5 spots in our lineup? Too many egos and players that expect to be in the starting XI for that to ever go smoothly.

I suppose this is a better dilemma than 'who's less likely to make a gargantuan cock up at the back, Doherty or Gardner', or 'who can we task with providing our midfield brains today, Leonhardsen or Sinton?'

It wasn't that long ago (maybe 2.5 weeks ago) that we had one of the worst days in a long time here. It was Friday and it sucked ass. And I know a lot of us older posters were ready to get the fuck out. I started using my SO account a lot more after that.

But I held in there because of something somebody said to a poster here who I consider just beyond the beyond in how much I respect them as a poster and a supporter. It galvanized me and I stuck around. And I'm glad I did because we've beaten back the trolls that constantly seek to ruin this place.

And today was a crowning moment. Let's see if we can replicate it many times more.

It was when I called SpursBear gay wasn't it ?

All this happened and I was barely here:

'One of the best ever days on SC'
'Never seen so much ITK'

As soon as I turn my back stuff bloody happens.
It's like I've turned up at midnight on prom night.
Just the dregs left now ;)

If we're going around breaking transfer records, does anyone else not think we can do better then Willian for 30 million?

Another 30m for Lamela too? I seriously doubt this is going to come off.

Must be bale money if so. Potential pre-arrangement with madrid to permit us in spending the cash prior to announcing the transfer.

This is just not our style, how have things suddenly changed over one summer.

I pulled for the first time with 'end of school prom night dregs'. Very much a Clint Dempsey sort of last resort when I'd been tracking a Joao Moutinho type all year.

At least she was a Spurs fan.

so some itks say defoe is available and others say ade is. so are we trying to shift them both or what? we haven't been linked to any strikers recently other than osvaldo and i can't quite comprehend that we'd be buying a striker on top of the supposed deals for wilian, lamela and coentrao.

I would be happy to shift them both. Jermain is above 30 and can be replaced with better quality - we've already been linked to a tall Croatian CF. Ade is a lazy, eccentric annoyance who does not fit in with the current ethos.

I have a theory.

I believe that Arsene Wenger placed a curse on Levy. Within this curse was the idea that Levy could not spend money without balancing books. He would also always sell at least 1 top player per season. This curse would last for as long as Wenger could make everybody believe that he was the all powerful football professor. When the doubts begin to set in, Levys ability to spend would be returned

Not sure who Wayne Vesey is, but he tweeted: (sorry if been posted)

This may seem bizarre to many but new Roma boss Rudy Garcia prefers Gervinho to Lamela. Totti will play on left flank & Gervinho on right.

&

No agreement reached today between #THFC & Roma over Lamela. Spurs want him & £29.9m fee + wages no issue but Roma want replacement in place

They have already bought Gervinho, according to his own tweet, they already have their replacement in place ?

All I can imagine is, that Spurs have a got a lot more respectability with Baldini and AVB here. It is now a very young, modern attractive package, chicaning into the modern world of football with a flourish. The new stadium is due, the new training facilities completed - a new era has truly begun.
