Does that performance today and getting subbed at half time perhaps suggest that Lamela will never quite make it in the PL. I wonder if Roma etc came in with a £20m bid in Jan would we accept?

Hopefully now Lamela is off we will up the pace in the second half and get a handle on the game

I think we'll nick this 1-0

The reason we couldn't play the ball quickly is because Lamela and Eriksen aren't standing in space, so there's no quick ball for Mason and Bentaleb

He's done better in recent games but people are talking about Lennon like he'll come on and be direct like Bolasie and Zaha have been, he isn't 18 anymore and Moniz is long gone.

Of course its down to fatigue. He was the first one I would of rotated midweek, said is much in the Chelsea team thread.

There's no way he was going to be up to putting in the same effort - with a third game in six days.

It is frustrating isn't it? We should have put out a much more solid (buslike) defensive team against Chelsea and saved the team which played against Everton to destroy Palace. Kane was always going to put his all into that Chelsea match and get knackered. Problem is though, who should've played against Chelsea up front / front 4?
I wanted Stambouli and maybe Dembele playing that one, to rest our young guns. Hindsight eh?

Soldado needs a goal today now to build on the winner last week

Otherwise it's going to have been a case of him being dropped straight after the win and next game he played him wasted two good chances to score while failing to hit the target and we'll be back to square one with him in terms of confidence etc

Wasn't hindsight for me though, I was saying it all week.
