Saw this on BBC sport discussing how well English teams are doing in Europe. I assume he's a Utd fan.... made me larf.

Fingers crossed for a repeat of 1999, when Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur swept all before them, each winning their Cup Finals.

Spurs: League Cup Final
United: FA Cup Final & CL Final
City: 3rd Division Play-Off Final

If we can see a repeat of that, with those three teams cleaning up again, it must indicate that PL teams are, surely, back in the mix?

Park the bus,

Cautious coach,

Tentative taxi.

Who gives a feck what people wish to call it.. Great point away from home against the current Champions league winners no less, in a game either side could have won.

I'll take that as a job well done in a very evenly played out game. They had spells camped in our half pressing well, as we did in their half.

Enough of this pony and trap, I thought the reins were off when required. :)

Think you missed the 'literally camped in our box' bit...

I want this win more than I want to beat Arsenal. Seriously.

They've yet to realise how good we can be, because we've consistently stuffed it up against them. That has to end.

Unfortunately they have a ready made excuse with Mane out

At the risk of stating the absolute obvious, we did not park the bus against Madrid. At times we were penned back by a very good Madrid team, but if that counts as parking the bus then the word has no real meaning. We clearly did not come with a game plan that consisted of aiming for a 0-0 draw, and lots of the game was real end to end attacking football. What do they want, for us to send all our players forward when Madrid are knocking it about on the edge of our box?

Football fans will say anything though. Once they've got a phrase like "parking the bus" in their heads, that's it. For ever more it will be used whenever a team isn't totally dominant for an entire match. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if every single time in the last ten years when a team hasn't won a game after having more possession, someone on an internet forum has used the phrase "parking the bus".

I find it funny that parking the bus wasn't a term until Mourinho coined it after our Santini side did a job on them at Stamford Bridge in José's first season and held on for 0-0. THAT was parking the bus. Madrid absolutely was not.

And we should have won that game. Keane had a great chance.

Missing a single player as much as Liverpool miss Mane isn’t an excuse, it’s a problem in itself! Look at the injuries the other top sides have. They should be embarrassed they rely on him as much as they do.

If that's the case then they surely have to be considered a one man team, despite the media coming up with this "fab four" bollocks.

RAWK seems to think it'll be a tight game. Their recent record against us is brought up, but they do have a lot of respect for Kane and Eriksson (sic).

Of course as a realist you have to understand that a 7-0 away win can't happen every game. But that's OK, I'm absolutely fine with just sticking 6 past Spurs.
I worry about our defence up against Harry Kane.

I worry about our defence up against Warwick Davis. We'll still win though.

Not wanting to be the bearer of reality but some over confidence here after a couple of good games!

It's the defence issue here for me. Spuds are playing well and they've beaten Dortmund at home - a team that still has elements of Klopp football.

Defensively they are a lot better than us but they don't defend the low block as well as others.

Think we could sneak it but I can also see another cagey 0 - 0.

Lawro posts over there too:
Let's go for the win but anything but a loss and I'm ok.

They''ll be tough....we've had a great record against them recently so Klopp definitely knows how to set us up against them, and the whole Wembley thing is an angle we can use to exploit...get at them and be aggressive and their fans might fear the worst

I do hope the Maribor game has given us confidence and we show it on sunday

3-1 the reds

These are a fantastic team, the 2nd best in the league in my opinion, but we can defo get at them as we've proved in the past

Just been on spurs forum....jeeesus they dont half hate liverpool! No talk of footy just slagging off! Get a grip

Jesus wept - I never thought I'd find fans more bitter and twisted than the Bluenoses, but them Spurs fans have just taken the trophy right out of their hands.

Never met a Spurs fan in real life that wasn't decent. Weirdly, on my last 3 jobs the person I got along with the most were all Spurs fans.

Anyone can be a c*nt online though.

Why are they so filled of hate? I find there's very little mention of the other fans in the pre-game threads on RAWK, United and Everton apart, and are either purely on our team or the opposition's tactics?

That Spurs thread is 90% hate towards Liverpool fans. Mental.

They're one of them teams that try to force a rivalry with us, I guess because over the last decade or so they've been in similar league positions?

They've always had delusions of grandeur and are notoriously fickle. (Editors note: Coming from Liverpool?o_Oo_Oo_O) The best one was last year's fake Premier League table doing the rounds from over the previous 2 seasons which had Spurs as champions based on combined points. I kid you not.

What have Spurs and Everton got in common?

An inferiority complex caused by more successful local rivals who they can't overtake even when said are not as good as in the past.

Similar positions lol

We've finished above them every season for about the last 8, bar their Suarez season.
