Well, at least when we beat United now people can stop calling us the Harry Kane team, he was injured last season and we didn't suffer, I expect our players will step up and prove a point in his absence.

Poch says he could be involved Wednesday so hopefully not too bad

Also, for people asking, a grade 1 strain which is considered minor should take a few days to heal, which makes me think either this is a grade two tear and the club are downplaying it because that would mean a few weeks out or we are playing it safe and saving him for the Madrid game.

Really frustrating as the game was won and Harry could easily have been replaced before the injury.

It was obvious he injured it against Liverpool. He got up holding the back of his leg. I didn't believe the tiredness or cramp excuse for a minute

There was something in the air that night
The stars were bright, Fernando
They were shining there for you and me
For liberty, Fernando
Though we never thought that we could lose
There's no regret
If I had to do the same again
I would, my friend, Fernando

So how long does a minor strain mean he'll be out for?
People here underestimating hamstring strains. Unlike some other injuries it's not something that you can just play through and if you come back too early you're at significant risk of further injury, even if it feels good. The generally accepted convention for a grade 1 hamstring strain is 21 days until it's fully repaired.

Lucky there is an international break before the Arsenal game otherwise I'd expect that he would be touch and go for that one.

Obviously I'm not a professional athlete in a pro environment, but having spent plenty of time and money with a physio after straining both hamstrings a combined total of 5 times I've heard and been shown the healing techniques, stretches and recovery processes plenty of times. Although I got off lucky. My brother fully tore his off the bone and had to have surgery.

There's some sense to what you're saying, but he lost the ball in that instance. If one player is exempt from pressing / winning the ball back then why would the others try so hard.

Would you rather he be like Ozil & stand and watch if he's dispossessed, trotting back half-heartedly? That kind of thing is infectious & it's that attitude that sets us apart from our neighbours.
Obviously not but there is a happy medium. Porch says he has to drag him off the training pitch but the way things are going he may well be out against United. It's the British mentality..he covers every blade of grass so he must be good . The player with the best stats for standing still is Thierry Henry. Sometimes you need to be protected from yourself.

If you told me a few years ago that we’d be gutted about Kane being out injured for our title-contending 6 pointer at Old Trafford but should be back for our Champions League game against Real Madrid at Wembley I’d have told you that you spend too much time on that PlayStation, open the curtains and get some fresh air.

I shall remain calm.

But fuck.

Yep. I thought he'd strained it straight away.

I genuinely don't think he knew what it was and I can understand why he thought it was cramp because they're similar enough if you haven't strained a hamstring before. I was never convinced by people saying that he was 'walking around fine' after the game as well. In my experience, unless it's a more serious strain, with a minor one it's not until you get to a jog that you can start to feel it.

Agree, I'm not any kind of cramp expert but I've yet to see someone pull up with cramp holding the top of their hamstring.
