That's fine. Just wondering the relevance to what I'd said! Thought that maybe you had replied to my post in error!
Not about being magnanimous. Genuinely see WH as my 2nd club! (Sorry @riggi ) More or less so dependant on which league they are in!
Really don't understand the 'rivalry' with them. AFAIAC there simply isn't a rivalry with them other than they happen to currently be in the same league.

There has always been a rivalry with West Ham. Arsenal are clearly our arch-nemesis, so to speak, but after that I'd say Chelsea and West Ham are joint 2nd. By rivalry obviously I don't mean in terms of on-the-pitch success i.e. competing for the title together, but in terms of hatred between fans. Admittedly, due to West Ham being well off the pace from us over the past 20 years, the rivalry on the field has perhaps become less intense, at least from our perspective, but I still don't understand how you can be a Spurs fan and support West Ham at the same time. It's one thing following your local league 1 club or something on the side but to support one of our most bitter rivals just makes no sense. I assume that you're not from the UK and so in that case I suppose you just didn't grow up with it like we did so it's more understandable. But to me that's like being a Hilary supporter who thinks Trump has some great ideas or something. It just doesn't add up.

Nope. UK born and bred. Supported Spurs for over 40 years. My old man has supported them for over 65 years before me, and his old man 80 years plus. The rivalry as far as I am concerned is no more than that with Leyton Orient.

Fair enough mate. To me it doesn't make sense but to each their own and all that

I can see it quite easily. I was born in Tottenham and lived there till I was 12. Most of my family still live there and I go back a lot. I never cared about West Ham and even quite liked them (played good football etc). No one in my family sees West Ham as proper rivals.

Then I moved to Chelmsford and was surrounded by them at high school. I ended up growing to hate them, but that probably wouldn't have been the case had I stayed in Tottenham.

I put this in the match thread from the other day but it's probably better here. The stadium is a joke. People should be getting in a lot of trouble for what's happened to it since the olympics. It just lurches from one disaster to another.

West Ham’s landlords on brink of going bust – so mayor and council fight to avoid humiliation of Hammers being locked out of London Stadium
New dispute over the club's low-cost lease seems certain as the price of keeping E20 Stadium LLP out of administration is likely to be MORE public funding on top of hundreds of millions

It would be funny if it weren't so outrageous.
I know what I'm talking about. The Polish National Stadium was built for over PLN2bln which is around 500mln euros for a 56 thousand seater. Unless I am mistaken it's the most expensive public stadium of it's class in the world. The retractable roof can't be closed, as it's too stuffy inside (it leaks too), the ground is flat so when it rains it immediately turns into a pool (as England discovered some years back when we renamed it the national pool), and there are major structural flaws, and the commuting is a nightmare. It actually wasn't certified for use during the Euros in 2012, but hey, let's not be petty.
Oh yes, I know all about the wastefullness of public dosh. The only comfort I take is that we're not the only ones. hell, at this rate we might actually be considered frugal.

We always seem to give these fucking nobodies a reason to cheer when they have fuck all going for them!

You know our gift of a win midweek has led to their win today too

Having criticised the Scousers for taking so long to get over their defeat to us, it's incumbent on me to get back on the wagon and start taking the piss out of West Ham again on what is officially David Gold day (as Riggi so kindly reminded us in the picture thread). So, where to start?

Well, West Ham conceded an equaliser in the 96th minute yesterday when Antonio went against the conventional wisdom of running a ball into the corner and instead decided to chip it into the opposing keeper's hands to allow Palace one last attack.

There's an outstanding video of Noble completely losing his shit at the final whistle...

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/11103317/west-hams-mark-noble-was-furious-after-drawing-2-2-with-crystal-palace

... and it's clear that he's saying 'fucking stupid' and 'in the corner', meaning that the dressing room will have been an interesting place after the game. Still, post-match interviews have to be carried out, so they sent Joe Hart out to speak with strict instructions to keep it bland, not call his team-mates out and not give anyone the opportunity to take the piss. As with crosses into the box, Joe got close, but not quite close enough, when he inadvertently summed up West Ham by saying...

"No-one does things on purpose in this team"

https://twitter.com/BBCSport/status/924332332496117760

:D

But, fair play to Hart. His last game for West Ham had seen him ship 3 goals against Brighton and this came after a nasty robbery in which he had his watch stolen by scooter bandits.

Obviously, it's not a pleasant experience and I do have some sympathy for Joe, although that obviously doesn't stop me from quoting the poster on KUMB who wrote:

I bet they went for his left hand side.
