Think we've just been unlucky, personally. Could have scored 4/5 at Leicester if it weren't for some awful finishing. Scoring most, if not all of those chances should have been a given. Last couple of matches have been anomalies.

Onomah now a regular starter in Villa, and they are fighting for promotion. To develop him a better player (including mental part), we should not recall him.

We haven't won well at all in the league this season...well we have done so very rarely. Liverpool and Huddersfield are the only games that I can recall, so I don't think there has really been an instance where we could have rested players.

We have no replacements for Wanyama or Aldeweireld, and it really shows.

Dier in reality is one of the most over-rated players in the country, he is very poor in most matches...that is not to say we can improve on him though.

I admire your faith in Onomah, but I actually think he is nowhere near good enough for the Premier league and has been more or less anonymous every time he has featured for Spurs, which was very regularly the season before last. Obviously would love to eat my words on this one as he is a Spurs boy, but from what I have seen I don't really get why anyone rates him.

Essentially we had a very thin squad anyway and now we have injuries too to make that tell. A number of our senior players are not focused on actually winning matches, rather they are focussed on a move to Barcelona or Madrid or United and hence we rarely win, in what is a competitive premier league.

I would be amazed if we start next season with a stronger squad than the one we have now, which is even more worrying since we aren't strong enough as is.

Yes I would expect the usual deficiencies within the squad come start of next season areas not fully addressed and with 1/2 big players leaving.

Keep the faith. Poch has been and is brilliant for us. My only worry would be, does his methods have a sell by date in the training ground ? Do the players respond to being beasted for only so long ?

Expected goals Leicester - Tottenham: 0,9 - 2,5
Expected goals Stoke - Liverpool: 0,9 - 2,5

We are just having a combination of poor form from some of the players, bad refereeing and bad luck.
Typical from a team with a dip in form.

It's when you grind out results from those matches you become top 4 and title candidates.

Example: Arsenal got a lucky penalty vs Burnley in 92nd minute. We didn't vs Leicester. 3 points margin based on luck.

We missed 2 one v one against Leicester and 2 open goals opportunities.
Leicester scored 2 goals from insane individual brilliance - Something they normally don't do, but typically does it to us.

 Sky keep peddling it and eventually even Spurs fans get sucked into the nonsense.

I can't say i agree with anything you have said, at all. Its depressing and inaccurate.

How is it inaccurate? Eriksen has always been open about his desire to play for Barcelona and Rose has made it clear he wants to go to United as has Dier.

Even if that were true, that isn't the same as "A number of our senior players are not focused on actually winning matches, rather they are focussed on a move to Barcelona or Madrid or United"

Based on that comparison the difference is that Arsenal and Liverpool kept clean sheets, giving themselves a chance to get a winning goal even with poor conversion rates.

We haven’t consistently defended well all season.

It isn´t just bad luck though. Alli and Sissoko had great opportunites but are both very clumsy players. Eriksen and Llorente had great chanses too but Poch is at fault for one beeing really tired and one short of confidence.

Still can´t see what Poch trying to do with the midfield. It dosen't work in game after game and he make changes just to put out the same one-man midfield in the next game.

In the case of the Arsenal, West Brom, Dortmund and Leicester games it's been evident visibly that we did not start those games aggressively and energetically enough. It wasn't just about the rub.

I'm not sure whether it's been complacency, believing that because we are now an elite team we've just got to turn up, mental fatigue from playing strong sides and tough games in the CL, individual fatigue from playing too many top level games for certain players, injuries to key players - particularly Wanyama - and form of other key players - that have meant tactical flux in the key midfield area of the pitch - and then we have Pochettino's tactical applications before and during games - such as not pressing bus parkers well enough at the beginning (and throughout games). It may well be a combination of some or all of those things.

But we've seen it before it various stages of seasons.

I am in the combination camp and couple that with my feeling that Kane hasn't trully recovered from his injury before the international break. Against Leicester and West Brom there were several moments where I would expect a full fit Kane to be chasing down the ball, pressing, forcing a turnover and he just didn't. Often it was Dele or Son from a deeper position while Kane jogged around the middle and pressed those nearest to him and the defense had more time to clear. Maybe it is a tactical decision but his movement just doesn't seem up to his standard. Dembele, Sanchez, Dier, Dele, and Eriksen all have looked like they're on a roller coaster of form which you might expect over a season but they are that way over the course of single matches which to me speaks of mental focus, whether it be exhaustion, distraction, or uncertainty.

The most frustrating thing for me was that by the end of last season we had built up and earned a fear-factor, that many teams were scared to play us. This of course brought disadvantages, such as the bus parking, but it also mean't we could really bully teams at times. Sometimes you can have the opposition beaten in the tunnel before kick off.

Now all that seems to be dissipating away. We need to get back to basics and start earning the right to play again.
