Based on the comments from Poyet and their owners, I highly doubt any transfer for Malcom will be agreed in January, even if it is for a summer transfer. A deal could be struck in principle I suppose, but even the announcement of a transfer this month or before the end of the season would be pretty unhelpful during a relegation battle. Seems that we can forget about this one for now, unless we make them an offer that they can't refuse - but we don't generally make those offers.

If he is determined to leave then he is more likely to get his head down once things are set in stone. Otherwise it's going to be constant whispers in his ear from his agent, and non stop media speculation with journo's bringing it up at every given opportunity.

I always thought if there are such a thing as human alien hybrids, that Poyet was one.

I'd like to say I'm surprised but I'm not. It's always such a long shot for us when trying to deal above the £40m bracket.

Presumably the goalposts were that he would be leaving this window? Now it's not going to happen, will that stop us bringing someone in? Get it done for the summer?

I'd like to think we would still like to bring in someone (I'm not still sold on Moura) as it feels like the attack needs freshening up. I know we've battered some teams this year but the goals have come late when they've seemingly given up.

Could do with someone to produce that little bit of unpredictability that we currently don't really have.

Seriously this becomes a normal thing now. I have no clue why this always seems to happen. Hopefully can still get it done
