There's obviously no guarantee that he would have been great for us, but it sort of feels like we have to rely on Son, Alli, Kane or Eriksen to win us games forever. And ever.

You know for once I almost think that we should bend over and let them fuck us because we’re utterly incapable of signing a good attacking player (apart from Son) and it’s fucking embarrassing.
Lots of clubs have paid over the value just to get a key player in so why can't we do it just once to push on? Pay an extra 15 or 20 for a top player and step up a level ....surely a 15 or 20 mil overpay would be worth a gamble

Even though this transfer was for the summer, I now assume our transfer business is done for now. Let’s just get toby signed up please.

We’ve signed one acceptable forward in the last 10 years.

It's almost as if trying to buy players to compete with clubs with way higher budgets is hard?!?!?

Also although we haven't sign many successful out and forwards, dele and eriksen's outputs are that you'd expect from forwards and dele had pretty much played as one sometimes so I'd count them as successful 'forward' purchases

FFS....whenever you start investing time in watching the player more closely and starting to believe he's a great fit, this happens. I think I may need to completely detach myself whenever we are linked with a player and just wait until they are unveiled before I do any of the above. I wonder if it's a stumbling block or if it means that the deal is dead?

He was a deep lying central midfield player when we signed him, so not sure we can claim that one
He was never a deep lying CM. He was a b2b CM and towards the end of his Mk days played just behind the striker.

I’m a season ticket holder at MK

We wanted to be on an exclusive buyers list of 1 didn’t we? Maybe that is the problem. Mind you I know ‘f’ all.

Doesn't mean things won't change again but I thought as soon as Poyet was announced that the change of manager would effect things. I bet we wanted him now and they wouldn't sell him now. I don't think its a shock.

Push ahead with sessegnon now then.

Add in the third party who owns 40% or whatever it was.

Well surely we would have known this ( or we certainly should have)?

And seeing as we are never able to weave our way through these deals we should concentrate out efforts elsewhere.

Poyet could have pulled him aside and told him a bigger club would come in for him in the summer if he waits or something similar, if its true he has an axe to grind with Levy. Could have said lots of negatives about Levy to cause doubt. I swear this type of thing only happens to us.

Every now and again I debate changing my profile picture.
Then the transfer window opens and something like this happens and I remember why I keep it. :dead:
