As Lemon has said for me Sessegnon lacks that trickery or stardust . I’ve just never seen him do something that’s taken my breathe away like sancho. When he does beat people in a one on one it’s almost purely by strength than anything magical. Saying that he’s obviously a great talent in lots of aspects it’s just that xfactor I don’t see. It’s weird because he definitely has great anticipation in the box for where the balls gonna land. But maybe ultimately left back will be his true position. At this moment I think anything more than £20m would be a big gamble.

Actually was really trying to think of a current player to compare sessegnon to. Might sound a bit weird. But for me almost like a Marcus alonso. Really solid good athlete that won’t let you down and an eye for goal. But not someone you’d really expect to get you out your seat.

Fair do’s. For me, if Sessegnon had these numbers at 21 you’d be looking at him with interest for this summer

At 17 it’s about as exciting as we’ve seen in England since Rooney.

I’ll take Sessegnon’s 70 games and 20 goals in the championship over Sancho’s youth team golden boy awards any day.

Having said that, I do think Sancho looks a wonderful footballer. I really wanted him last summer. It’s more that there is still a big variable as to how it will translate.

Sessegnon’s proved he can play with men, and the upward curve in terms of productivity is getting steeper every fortnight

Sorry but if you saw Rooney at 17 comparing him to sessegnon is Just nonesense. Rooney was running PL games at 17. He was the best player on the pitch.

we nee to make sure we get Reo Griffiths signed up when he is old enough, I reckon there will be a lot of clubs all over him at the moment

Personally, with no hint, but pure opinion. Between Malcom and Sess, rather Malcom-All day. Guy is just tekkers.
The problem with this though, or any foreign player, is that we pretty much have to sell to buy.

As it stands we've got two non-HG players missing out on European registration. If we add another non-HG player without selling they will miss out on being registered, or another non-HG player already here will miss out.

Leipzig want him. Mitchell has taken over their recruitment.

I saw the news article and just think its a journalist putting 2+2 and coming up with 5 on Reo Griffiths. Im sure the club will sign up their most coveted young players.

Two bob outfit when compared to us. Owned by a “sports drink”, won nothing and take a punt on literally everyone under 21. Fuck em, Mitchell too the self important narcissistic prick

I'm not sure we need a backup striker for Kane next seson. Sell Jansen and Llorente. If Griffiths keeps developing, have him shadow Kane...sure as shit can't be worse than the others we've tried.
I would add, that should we sign a Malcolm, i can see us playing a 433 when Kane is being rested, similar to Liverpool -- with Son playing the Firmino role.

With sancho doing well over there he might be tempted. Especially with how onomah and edwards are doing at the moment.

Have to say whenever I watch sessegnon I’m always slightly underwhelmed. I know he scored but was a tap in literally only thing he did the whole half. Must have watched him 10-15 times and always feel the same. Doesn’t seem to have blistering pace rarely see him beat a man. Don’t think he’s anywhere near Sancho or Hudson odoi imo. Yes I know he’s 17 but people are talking £40m I just don’t see it. However the one thing he definitely has is great anticipation around the box and eye for goal. May well end up a striker.
Ahh, similar to your suggestion Josh Onomah would end up a striker?

Yeah I saw Rooney at 17. He was a lot better than Sessegnon, which is in line with what I wrote.

What Sessegnon is doing this season is more impressive than what’s been done by anyone at 17 since Rooney in this country.

Do you have an example of someone who has looked better at a higher level with superior numbers?

Not disputing his numbers. But considering all the hype and potential £50m price tag I expect to see a bit more quality when I watch him.
