Who owns Stamford Bridge? Chelsea don't own it, do they?

I was thinking they could sell the ground to an investor to generate funds, but they can't even do that.

lol
Roman, delegated very well. He made a good decision somewhere along the line, unlike Todd, who I can’t think of one is made yet.
Hiring Kline after him doing nothing here seems like another poor move. Long may it continue.

Given EVERYONE knows that Chelsea need to sell, why would anyone pay market value, let alone more for any of their players?
Might be worth looking deeper into Chelsea's ownership group...and how much money Saudi has invested with Clearlake...

(But you have to find players willing to go)

They will get a lot more for Palmer, he is having one amazing season. He will go for at least double what we paid for Brennan Johnson, even if he wasn't HG and he surely is, plus club trained for City. Rice went for 105m after having a super shitty season, Palmer is younger and one of the best players in the league this year. Main reason why they are in Cup final too. The only problem could be timing, maybe they get few points deducted until they manage to sell few players. But Palmer and Colwill won't take long I bet.

Unless they get injured, then they fucked.
So who is going to pay 90m for Palmer.
The answer is no one.

Liverpool, Arsenal, City. How much do you think they will get for him?
Liverpool - possibly.

Arsenal - not before the PSR cut-off date, as they are close to the limit themselves.

City - why would they buy him back less than a year after selling him? Why would he go back there less than a year after leaving?

They don’t own the pitch- Ken Bates put it into a Supporter’s Trust or something when he sold up.

Even if they manage to sell they are only kicking the can down the road. The only players they have to really sell are those that make up their HG quota, which they'll need to fix quickly if they let them go. Their best CB is 40, Lukaku and Kepa will be back etc etc.

I imagine things are getting pretty desperate over there, and no doubt Todd Kline has been tasked with drumming up additional revenue streams in the US and pronto.

I'm sure this will go swimmingly. I remember our being very excited when we brought Kline on board as the expert in getting naming rights sorted, and what can I say, his three years with us will not go unforgotten...

And while Chelsea could still get themselves out of this mess on paper, they will have 2 weeks to sell assets with every buyer knowing exactly what situation they are in. They will have to sell players they don't necessarily want to sell at prices that they don't want to sell at.

Other teams will also be factoring in the net benefit of either letting Chelsea get completely screwed by this mess of their making, essentially removing them from CL contention next season or worse, or helping to bail them out and getting some players at a discount.

Either way, it's a ridiculous situation to have gotten themselves into.

As Trix said: Arsenal don’t have the FFP/PSR headroom. City won’t buy Palmer back for double what they sold him for last summer.
Liverpool - possibly.

He is club trained and Pep didn't want to sell him.

Pep didn't want to sell him, but Palmer very much wanted to leave.

He joined Chelsea because he wanted to play regular football - and he's getting that now. I can't see him having any desire to go back to being a bit-part player for Pep's all-stars.

The freehold of the stadium & Chelsea name is owned by Chelsea Pitch Owners which was I believe the brainchild of Bates to protect the club .

Their fans keep saying stuff like "If we sell Gallagher, Lukaku and Broja before the date we will be fine"

Totally forgetting that they will need to replace thise players.

They still need a CF, GK and another CM.

So they add another 150m on spend and the following June need to clear another 100m off the decks, for example.

He wouldn't be a part-player now after this season anyway. Plus I bet he moves to Liverpool, they will need a good transfer to soften the Salah and Klopp blows, plus it would be perfect revenge for Chelsea screwing them over Caicedo and especially Lavia deal (bullet dodged but still). They won't rush to save them for sure but I bet they get him eventually.

2 of them are out on loan anyway, aren't they?

Problem is it's points per million that Everton have been hit with. So if they have to pay Poch off it's another £10mil that's another 6 points if we take Everton as the example. It's a huge chunk of money plus you have to give the new guy a contract plus his team. With the numbers we are talking it could see them relegated the following season.
Glorious. I may have a little tear in my eye.

They'll escape surely? They were able to drag out the purchase beyond the original deadline to stay alive (had ppl fighting for them in parliament ffs) so I have little doubt that they'll wrangle it again.

The answer is no one.
Exacr who can afford him?

I don’t think he is worth 90 million in the new current market.
Liverpool - possibly.

Arsenal - not before the PSR cut-off date, as they are close to the limit themselves.

City - why would they buy him back less than a year after selling him? Why would he go back there less than a year after leaving?

I doubt Liverpool can justify / spend 90 million on one player.

Don’t they have other holes to fill first In there squad?
