Yawn we get a decent manager and press try whore him off to Liverpool or Man U.

Some of you need to go outside and touch some grass. You aren’t getting enough o2 and your brains are rotting
You're right. I blame my boss. Time for me to do that and gtfo of here!!

Look I was a bit at the front of this with my humor. Actually watching his presser I have zero worries now. The way the words read, it was initially like...what are you actually saying? But watching him say it he just isn't interested in any of it at all so I like that

Players and managers in particular always are cagey around these types of questions, there’s obviously an element of not wanting to burn bridges for later in their careers which is understandable it is a job to these guy at the end of the day.The only player I can remember in recent history completely blowing a club out was when Vardey was flying a few years ago Arsenal bid for him (the infamous 30 mil + a quid) and he came out in the press and said he’d no interest in going to them:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

It's also worth highlighting that the only manager who for some time really consistently committed long term to the project was Poch, and he got the least backing during those times. The relationship between manager and board is always going to be one of brinkmanship, and I have no problem with Ange keeping Levy on his toes

Thought he pretty much answered the question as to where he will be next season with so many "we've & we'" in his answers.

We should be used to this by now. We had years of the press trying to unsettle Kane.....especially SkySports!

Having listened to the whole episode, he starts by making it clear that he has only just begun his work here, and that they are trying to build a successful squad for the future. He basically ridicules the idea of moving on at this point.

When pressed on whether he will definitely be here next season, he then says that he can't really comment because it's basically out of his control. If he was doing badly there would be speculation of being fired, if he is doing well, other speculation. His somewhat vague reference to his 26 year history in management and what it is he does is far more likely to mean his work at Spurs is only just beginning, which is what he also just spelled out.

When pressed on whether he thinks it is still a compliment to be associated with the Liverpool job, he says, well not really if it is just a question of possibly being on someones shortlist.

Bottom line, nothing to see here.

There is no way Postecoglou pushes for a move to Liverpool this summer, even if it is a job he would covet at some point in the future, and there is no way Levy even picks up the phone to discuss it with Liverpool. The guy has been here for 6 months and has a 4 year contract. He is going nowhere
In other words it's just the press doing what they do to make a story

He used an awful lot of words there to avoid saying "no I'm not interested."

Whenever someone says "the answer should be self-explanatory", they're using rhetoric to avoid giving that straight answer.

Let's be honest, Levy would be the obstacle here. If Postecoglou was offered Liverpool and wanted to take it, then I'm fine with him going.

But I highly doubt that situation will come to pass. The best thing any side can do to keep their managers and best players is to work and succeed as a team.

It doesn't make sense for him to say that he isn't interested.
Anything can happen in football/career. Besides the liverpool project is an interesting one and they can more than match us money-wise.
The journos are just doing their job which includes provocation, because that's what the readership wants.
Overall don't see this as anything more than the usual.

Can't see that he'd be interested to be honest so I'm not really concerned about press bollocks on this one. He'll be more aware than anyone that he's in 'as carte blanche as is possible at this club' situation that he's already put a year of hard work into that's borne fruit so far in that we've not suffered the year one struggles that he's alluded to in his previous clubs in adapting to his ways. We have a shitload of upside for all concerned going into next season if he and everyone else does their job well.

The idea that he'll finish this year here and want to move on having achieved nothing like he'd have wanted to and then start a whole new process somewhere else at a club not a million miles off of us anyway seems a bit fanciful tbh. He could be walking into year two here with a squad honed by him and prepared to challenge for honours, vs flushing two years of his life before he is in the same position elsewhere.

If we won something I'd be more worried, to be honest, but we haven't and we won't this year. He'll want to win something.

And when we do win something, that makes us an even more attractive option for a new manager if he did choose to move on.

"Monkey off our back", great young squad, immense London stadium, assuming we have CL football by then - there would only be <10 elite clubs in world football who would be comparable/exceed us in terms of appeal to a manager (excluding managers where a language barrier/staying in a certain country is absolutely key to them)

You remember when he wound up the press conference with the Hamilton to Ferrari gag? Today he thought he'd have a chuckle at the weak-minded media-lapping-up sector of the fanbase is all.
