Ko Itakura makes a ton of sense, in my mind. Probably could provide higher quality cover across three positions than what we currently have (LB, LCB and DM).
Has he ever played LB? Pretty sure he usually plays RCB rather than LCB.

Hiroki Ito from Stuttgart plays LB & LCB and has occasionally (but rarely) played DM.

There is only one player we need to break the bank for in the summer. His name is Harry Kane.

- Need someone to put away those numerous wasted chances we create? Tick
- How about some unique magic to unlock a prickly stubborn defence? Yep!
- Son's best ever strike partner? What do you fucking think?
- Loves the club, already a legend, needs to think about getting on the coaching ladder? Dotteeeed liiine

So Levy - do us all a favour, dust off the cobwebs of your fucking wallet for once, bring the boy back and let's win this fucker next season. If we had Kane this season we would be minimum firmly 3rd now, even with a Ch£l$ki debacle earlier in the season.

As much as I would support that, we have to be realistic. Harry is not moving next season, especially if Bayern fail to win a trophy. There is no way he is leaving that club until he wins something.

I like Son central so think we need really a younger Son mk 2 for next season. Son and Kane would hardly be succession planning. As a centre forward you can't ask for better than Son really but we do need a wide goalscorer.

I expect us to come out against Palace much more like our (pre Chelsea) selves after a couple of weeks of Ange drilling :cautious: the team.

No thanks. The team is finally playing as a cohesive unit where everyone is seemingly more interested in the clubs success than their own. Players have stepped up and matured and leaders that seem to really love the club like Son have done a fantastic job stepping out of Kane's shadow.

Last thing we need is to go back to the being the Harry Kane team.

This quote combined with the fact that Glasner was apparently in attendance at the Wolves game means that we’re almost certain to be facing a very similar low block next up against Palace.

Will be very interesting to see the results of the work that gets done on the training pitch by Ange over the next two weeks.

If we look completely clueless again then I can understand a bit of skepticism sinking in with some people, but I fully expect and trust the management team to inject some new ideas over the training period.

Hopefully Ange watched the City & Pool games over the past couple of days, they both showed some good pointers on how to break down the low block. Intensity, shots from range, quick balls out wide, numbers of runners into the box etc.

If we can’t beat a Palace side potentially without Olise, Eze and Guehi I’d be very worried 🤷🏻‍♂️

100% no. Why on earth would a team with a limited budget spend it all on a 31 year old who you have to build a team around to get the most out of.

Great player. Our best ever.

But it's time to move on. As for "So Levy - do us all a favour, dust off the cobwebs of your fucking wallet for once" - where have you been for the last 5 years? This just patently isn't true. We've only been outspent (net) by Arsenal, Chelsea and Utd, all of who are considered to have gone seriously aggressively.

With one exception, I agree with everything you say here.

The exception is, Harry is not our best ever player.

Yeh I fully trust him. I think it’s intentional stubbornness at the moment and if a team plays a style that beats it he isn’t going to change. It’s all about drilling the ideas into players right now and then he can get more flexible with ideas. Always knew there were going to be bumps in the road with it particularly in year 1 just think our expectations were raised when we started so well.

Yeah, you can maybe see a parallel in Ten Hag's United, who seem to be entirely reactive rather than sticking with a style through bumps in the road. Now they don't really have an identity at all. I much prefer Ange's idea.

I think a lot of people just really don’t have the patience these days. Especially since every man, woman and their dog share their opinion on “where it’s all going wrong” on social media.

Everyone knows better about what tactics to use, who should be starting, what subs to make, who we should be buying etc. Everyone is an expert from the comfort of their own armchair.

So there’s probably less tolerance than ever for the idea that things take time. Although admittedly it doesn’t help that we didn’t win anything at our best under Redknapp and Pochettino.

What amazes me is these folk on Social Media all apparently know better than Ange but don't actually do the job. I wonder why that is ? Perhaps it is because they actually know F all ?

Yes take our winner v Pool. Kulu kept coming inside until Porro went on overlap whipped in cracking ball that defender had to go for or one of our players would tap it in. I'm surprised we haven't seen more of this against teams that just defend.
