Lewandowski stopped up literally three times in the run up to that penalty.

That shit just isn't on and if we force keepers to stay on their line IFAB has to deal with stutter run ups as well.

The Poland penalties were all good. The keeper was nowhere near any of them.

James' run up was too straight and made it obvious which way he was going.

Didn’t Son have to retake one cos of a stutter in one of the Europa ties a few seasons ago, what happened to that rule?

I think it was an FA Cup game actually. But Son was judged to have come to a dead stop in that run up which is outlawed, the problem is those like Lewandowski yesterday who slow down but are still technically moving. It's a loophole they have to close. One run up, no changes of pace.

Said it before, once the taker has stuttered then it's all fair game. Keeper can rush off his line and get as close as he wants.

I agree with the principle but then you'd end up with keepers rushing, takers stopping to try to dink the keeper instead and it would eventually descend into a total farce.

Better to just outlaw the stutter.

I should imagine they've discussed doing that and come to the conclusion that they can't define 'stutter' to the extent that they can ban it.

Simple

Once a player has started moving towards the ball, they must not slow their movement until after the ball has been struck.
