Well, how disappointed am I coming in here today? They got spanked 0-3 at home & fuck all about it in here, you're slacking boys
Probably because several are thinking about the 5th CL spot and how this was meant to be the banker towards it.

I mean, yeah, I’d much prefer to qualify properly by winning the league. Will take it either way.
I like the idea of the EL, it gives us a chance to start playing Dragusin, Phillips, Bergvall and a few others we bring in. It could be the best option for long term squad building.

Next season with the new format and extra games, CL will basically be €100M to the club. That's a lot of power in the transfer market compared to the 18 pence you get for the Europa League.

After last night I think we can forget 5th getting CL
Certainly dont want Arsenal to help us get it. Best scenario is they have Bayern and Leverkusen. We have City and Villa. In the semis. Will still be pretty level so all to play for.
Obviously we need to just get 4th and that’s it but happy to take the extra place. Will make such a difference to our budget.

The EL will be easier to win next season as there will be no champ lge teams dropping down.
Still don’t want to be in it.

Liverpool won't win the league, they're slowly fading in these final hurdles under Klopp and if I'm honest hate to say it but Arsenal have been the best and most consistent team this season, followed by City, really not sure how Liverpool have so many pts tbh, most times I've watched them they've not been that impressive at all, I think we are just as good as them and if we didn't have our injuries and AFCON/Asia Games etc we would be on same points as them.

Much prefer to qualify properly than rely on a sort of wild card 5th place.

Bout time we had some luck for us though to when it comes to CL qualification...lasagne gate, Chelsea winning the CL then the rules changing after Liverpool whined like little babies.

Annoyingly, the Liverpool defeat and impending exit from the competition for both them and West Ham probably means the 5th place thing is going to be determined by the Arsenal v Bayern tie.

Surprised that Liverpool were so poor last night but every year we talk up the chances of an English winner in the Europa League and yet the English teams almost always come unstuck around this stage. It’s a difficult competition and I’d love us to win it personally.

It seemed written in the stars that Klopp would walk out with a couple of trophies but it is starting to look like they may only walk away with the League Cup.

That has to go down as a disappointment when you consider how long he has been there and how much he has won.

It is still excellent but from a supposed amazing era, I am not sure if it is enough of a legacy to leave.

Remember, Di Matteo won the CL and Conte the PL with Chelsea.

I’m fine with EL next season. Conference league is trash and not worth it but EL would be well worth trying to actually win.

I know everything is judged on trophies, but considering the rebuild he's done (pretty much changed the whole midfield and front line in the last few years) then it's still a spectacular achievement.

Not many managers could've done what he's done (if any), he leaves a legend whatever happens from now to the end of the season.

I'd be massively surprised is Amorim can be anywhere near as successful, but I've been wrong before.

Am I misunderstanding this? Are you saying this season is a disappointment rather than his whole time there? Because if it's as a whole, his legacy is fine as he has won a lot in a period dominated by Pep and City. Including a Champions League against us and a Premier League.

If it wasn't for Pep's City Liverpool would've had another 2 PL's.

Klopp has done an outstanding job on a not extraordinary budget overall (VVD and Allison aside).

I strongly dislike the goofy specky gurning so and so but he is one heck of a manager and the next person will have a hell of a job on their hands, hopefully it takes them a while to get up to speed so we can leapfrog Liverpool for a few seasons.

I wouldn't write them off just yet. They still have Alisson to come back in goal, Jota's now back from injury and they still have Trent to come back too

Sure I agree with all that.

Just, many years from now and people say Klopp's era, people will expect numerous league titles and trophies which isn't the case

You're right though, they'd have at least 3 PL titles if City and Pep weren't around
