Better than training for weeks on end. That 10 point gap could largely disappear very fast when you look at the next few games coming up, especially with us having yet another annoying break. Then we have 6 games in 3 weeks . Are we up to that ?
All in on Burnley/Sheff U. I'm not especially optimistic about the other remaining games (we'll likely now win all of them and lose the other two knowing us). Should be enough for 5th which is about what we deserve this season.
Very positive signs but yawning gaps still present as expected.
So there's no improvement to be had next season with players moving on and new ones coming in, you're just going to judge next seasons team right now?Ange has given this bunch of losers an opportunity easy out with his “I don’t care about top 4” statements. Today was pathetic, the same as Fulham. If this team get champions league then we’ll be embarrassed on A weekly basis, Europa is our level.

No, it's not all we can judge it on, we can apply some balance rather than make sweeping generalisations. And as for being exposed and cut open at will, fuck me, if that's the case, how on earth are we challenging for a spot in the Champions League when we're just a southern Sheffield United in drag. There are of course valid criticisms and frustrations but some of it is a smidgin over the top mixed with two tablespoons of reactionary.that’s all we can judge it on as we don’t know what changes will be made. That’s why I also said if “this team”. For me it doesn’t really matter what players we sign, the kamikaze tactics that he employs is not going to cut it in the premier league or Europe. We get exposed time and time again and cut open at will.
Still very much in the air. The results this midweek will give us a much clearer answerI take it the current European results means that we won't have 5th place as CL?
What is your definition of "cut it"? We're 5th despite all the ups and downs, that is two or three places above where most predictions had us.that’s all we can judge it on as we don’t know what changes will be made. The appeal of 4th was massively lessened for me by the realisation that I've not enjoyed basically any game in the CL since Ajax. Conte's run in it was so turgid and both the Leipzig and Milan games were two of the most deflating experiences I've seen.
Not saying I don't want us in it, I think we still will (one of City/Villa/Arsenal will get to the final at least), but it's not the be all and end all for me like it was a decade ago.
Nothing like watching Moura's hat tricks or Bale dominate Maicon. We don't have anyone right now who can produce that kind of magic IMO. Maybe Bergvall, Moore, Donley, Lankshear become one of those types. I would still love for us to be in CL, love hearing that anthem when we play. The appeal of 4th was massively lessened for me by the realisation that I've not enjoyed basically any game in the CL since Ajax. Conte is notoriously shite at European games.
Anges European record at Celtic left a lot to be desired, but he has much better players here.
Could be a fun CL run.
Oh I'd definitely rather be in it than not, but last season was so miserable it sort of burned me.Nothing like watching Moura's hat tricks or Bale dominate Maicon.
