    Quite. I'm not sure what the accepted wording is, but surely after this, VAR needs to audibly confirm whatever decision has been reached, eg "Check complete. Offside." or "Check complete. Goal." To just say "Check complete" is asking for this kind of misunderstanding to happen again.
