It’s not morally dubious at all. Many seem to think it’s somehow connected to the tax payer but it isn’t. The Bank of England is an independent body. We basically just got a bank loan at a favourable interest rate.

I'd never think I'd see so much scrutiny over a company securing a loan in order to secure their immediate future during a global pandemic but I guess I shouldn't be surprised should I?

Could levy of used this loan to pay off a % the stadium which is loaned at a higher rate?

Haha it's the Dybala money! Can honestly see this affecting our budget for a very very long time.

Dybala was a myth though, if utd could not get him we had no chance this was just agent talk to drum up interest.
It wasn't a myth. We were better team than United and had Argentine manager and players so he wanted to come here. As the best sources for us and Juve said the same.

I honestly still don't think that we're that much of a draw. If United were in for lo Celso they would have got him. When we have competition is when we can't sign players.

He might have wanted to join us but financially it was always a very difficult deal.

People going on and moaning about this loan, haven't got a fucking clue. Much bigger companies like British Airways are doing the same with much bigger loans. Its refinancing the debts, something which Man Utd has been doing for years with 750 million plus debt, yet no one is gives a hoot. Its a loan to be paid back, and with the interest to be paid being very low, Levy is being prudent and doing the correct thing so give him and the club some credit. Get a grip

I haven't got a clue about big finance but is an area I trust Levy in anyway.

Its funny Dybala came out today and said he didn't even speak with us but there was interest yet in the media it was made out to be very close apart from the image rights but we all knew it was a non-starter.

Spot on, I criticise levy on the football running side of things but this is a simple and shrewed financial move. The real worry is when can we get fans back in stadiums so we can start getting some revenue that way again as we and all clubs will start to struggle big time if not. I know tv money is the biggest factor but that will naturally be reduced now as its a less attractive product. Sooner they get fans back in stadiums safely or by finding a vaccine etc the better for everyone and for us.

Becuase it was close. Won't expect player to say that he was really close to leaving the club

The BSoDL fellow who somehow classed the failed deal as an example of Levy's transfer prowess probably has a framed copy of Rivaldo's letter above his fireplace.

Just imagine if it was true and we got him, that would of been a real quantity signing.

Just saw that should levy use the Boe loan to pay the stadium annual payment he will save £3.5m in interest payments.

And yet again you have fallen for it hook, line and sinker. (assuming you just didn't make it up yourself and put it on your own twitter feed)

The BOE loan has to be repaid within a year, there is no capital repayment on the stadium loan for 15 years.
So in your scenario we pay £175m off of a stadium loan (which we can't do anyway), where do we get the £175m from to repay BOE ? (answer borrow it at a much higher interest rate, negating the savings you were suggesting we would make anyway)

By the way have you worked out who the staff member was that caught Covid yet ?
It wasn't a staff member by the way, but you were insistent it was, and haven't retracted that yet
