Tottenham defender Djed Spence has earned rave reviews from Rennes fans after making his debut for the loan club. Spence will spend the season at the Ligue 1 club, joining Spurs team-mate Joe Rodon in the team, after a deadline-day move from north London.

He is stubborn tho.
Perhaps in this case with good reason ? The lad had problems at Middlesborough. Has he adjusted to the demands of PL football, the necessary commitment, 100% focus, etc., ? Conte may feel he needs a less demanding league to develop to his full potential and a club where he can be played almost every game to do this. The PL is so results driven Conte may just feel he can't give him sufficient game time to develop.

This is good for us! It's risk free - he gets to learn on the job.

Mind you, there will naturally be different lenses being applied here. Rennes fans on the whole have probably never heard of Spence, won't know anything about the transfer saga or our frustration that he hasn't got more minutes. All they know is this young lad has turned up at the start of the week, turned his opposing full back inside out within five minutes, and nearly put one in the top corner 10 minutes later.

He was decent after that. It's just we know in what areas Conte wants him to improve, so we naturally look for and focus on them when they happen. Rennes fans don't know that. If they are impressed then great - that'll hopefully feed back to Spence and his confidence will go up. We will then get a better, battle hardened, player ready to start next season.

I am not sure where this comes from.

Conte's MO is to be very vocal in his opposition to the board/chairman. He is not the passive-aggressive type who will silently sit back and sabotage his squad to make a point.

Conte wants to win. He will play the team that he thinks gives him the best chance at winning.

And, lets not forget - one of the mainstays in his team is a classic "club signing" - Dier.

What I've seen so far with Conte he's not one for giving young players a chance, he much prefers the more experienced players unlike many of the PL teams who will give them a chance. My point is if what you have isn't working then you need to try something or someone else.
