We're doing well then aren't we? 10th largest club consistently finishing top 6. Probably the best performance in the league. Hooray.

The man's an A Class tool and a bitter one at that. Redknapp and Sherwood lover and got embarrassed by AVB. When we lost to Arsenal he was calling us a big club in the paper when Sherwood was here, but oh look at that Sherwood not here so we aren't as big.

To base it on attendance is stupid since all ground vary, should base it more on % of attendance compared to capacity and in that regard we would dominate. Even then that's a silly way to measure.

Talking about big clubs, you would have to look at history as well, and whilst no doubt Arsenal, Liverpool and Man UTD and even Everton's history span a long time back, Chelsea's history only consists of the past 10 years!

Don't know if that was a rhetorical question aimed at Ashton but, according to our latest financial statement, the "waiting list" is now 47,000.

no it was a question to anyone who could answer, cheers, 47,000 waiting on season tickets did the mail even look into this 10th best my hole

Loved this bit
Tottenham are a big club, just not as big as United and Arsenal, and certainly no bigger than Newcastle, City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Sunderland, Everton and Aston Villa.

All of them had bigger average attendances than Spurs in the Barclays Premier League.

Hardly surprising is it when you consider they all have bigger grounds than ours. Not convinced Villa had a higher attendance than us last season

I wonder how many are waiting for season tickets at those clubs?

Someone just tweeted that Ashton is a hypocrite due to this piece....

Proof, if needed, that Ashton is a bit of a ****.

Edit: Roberts has retweeted it too.

Just a couple of ripostes to Ashton's nonsense...

We know that fourth-placed finishes are not good enough because Harry Redknapp was fired in May 2012

This is absolute nonsense of the highest (or lowest) order. He was fired for two reasons:

1. Although we finished 4th that year, we shouldn't have slipped from 3rd. Harry oversaw an end of season collapse that wasn't really acceptable.

2. More importantly, he was openly touting for the England job, something that had an obvious impact on his job at Spurs and something which is more than worthy of a sacking.

The Spanish coach (Ramos) was the last man to win silverware at Spurs - the Carling Cup against Chelsea at Wembley in 2008 - but that wasn’t enough.

Of course that wasn't enough you total spanner. We were bottom of the league when he left! Are you saying that a Carling Cup would make up for Spurs being relegated?

They have tried various approaches over the years and will try again with another foreign coach. Pochettino just happens to be the latest.

This is the one where the UKIP starts to show in dear Mr Ashton. 'Another foreign coach'. Boooooooooooo! Give it back to 'Arry! Sack all the foreigners! Deport them all!

Seriously Ashton this piece could have been about two lines saying, "Spurs haven't been that successful and keep sacking managers to try and find success....like every other club in the world. The end."

You silly ass-hat.

He is good mates with Redknapp and Sherwood, I guess not so much Villas-Boas or Pochettino.

Agenda piece

Is the right answer, he got pawned by AVB in the press conference last season and he has never forgiven us for sacking the gob.
