Pity to see 11,000 seats empty last night. Top class opposition, new signings and basically a full Spurs team out. Is it purely down to the recession, high ticket prices, or maybe a hangover from the last couple of years and fans are assuming the kids will be playing?? What happens when we get the 60,000 new stadium? Is it a case of 'if you build it, they will come', or will we have 35,000 empty seats?!

The club didn't put the tickets up for General Sale because of the local Italian community. So the distribution was managed, most probably because of Police instruction for safety and security.

Maybe cause it was Thursday night. Most people would get home past midnight, and then would have to work the next day.

Really? I couldnt get tickets as I needed to get them on general sale but they where for members only so I thought there was huge demand.

Haven't paid membership up yet.

Mr negative pants

True though mate, no matter how much we trumpet it, it really doesn't have the same pull on a Thursday night, it was my first home game of the season as I've missed Norwich and WBA, and none of the guys around me who sit (I'm talking at least 10 if not more) around me were even there last night, all up in the West Upper was empty etc. It's sad.

I think a mixture. I personally haven't made one game yet due to work restraints. But that's just me. I think a lot would be down to bit being able to, availability, I do think for these type of games the price should come down and kids for half price or even free. Give something back to the fans and get an atmosphere.

But we've had full houses or almost full houses for most Uefa Cup games since 2006/07, and nearly all of those were against teams much further down the pecking order from Lazio.

Until we got Champions League I would agree, now we are seeing the effect of having a sniff of the elite, and dropping back into the second rate comp.

At least Spurs don't reduce themselves to advertising in the Evening Standard and Capital Radio like the Goons, Chelsea and West Ham :ROFLMAO:

Looks like they learnt from the Wisla game a few years back then. That was a bit hairy in places.

Yes it's a mixture of reasons. It's Europa, it was on terrestrial TV, it's a Thursday of course, first game of the group, expectation of resting best players (it turned out we didn't so expectore nex time) and tix not being on general sale. Also people keeping their 'free' cup games for later

Afraid not champ, you don't get the choice these days, it's the first two home cup games whoever they may be, another thing that makes the attendance for last night all the more disappointing.
