HOLY CRAP!

Gareth Barry's £6.7million a year Manchester City payday puts the 28-year-old among the Premier League's big earners.

The midfielder will earn £130,000-a-week following his £12m move from Aston Villa

Who can blame him? I think this officially means we are further down the pecking order as being an attractive place to go.

Harry called it. He said we were after him but his head has been turned. I can't wait for these billionaire owners to get bored of their new toys and jog on.

Really? Fantastic?

Fair play, its your opinion but i just dont get the hype about him

He has consistently been the best player, in a team that finished above us in the league.

When I say Fantastic, I mean he would be fantastic for us. Because he is exactly the type of player we need. Someone who plays well away from home, who does not worry about his hair or pulling up socks when we are defending corners, and generally being true captain material.

His extra presence will help us solve our WORST bugbear of the past 10 years:

Defending corners.
Showing up in away games
Head never drops when going behind
Spice Boys gangsta party bus
Experience for youngsters
Leads by example and vocally
ROCK solid in almost every aspect

They finished above us yes but him being the best player at Villa is not such a big thing to achieve i dont think

Anyway 130k a week is madness for any player

Crazy crazy money. I just don't understand Man City's plan. Most clubs have a philosophy about the way they play football that goes back a few years. Man U play fast tempo counter attack, Chelsea play tight effective hard working football, Arsenal try to play silky silky, must score the perfect goal football etc. But are City planning to play a particular style of football, and then get the players to fit into that, or just buy everyone and anyone who is available and hope a style emerges? Barry IMHO would fit into Liverpools' style of neat football, or maybe in the Carrick role at Man U, but i cannot see him fitting in at City.

Oh well it might turn out well for us, Villa have lost one of their best players, and City have bought someone who wont fit their style.

The summer transfer dealings are going to be a train wreck! This is really going to be the craziest season in history. So many rich owners, so much chaos, no barcodes and boring borough stinking up the Prem etc etc.:beer:

Fucking love football me.

We could get City relegated i reckon. As long as we say we want Downing, Martins, Wheater, Huth, Duff and Butt, City, like a younger brother, will say they want them too. Only they will buy them, put them on £100,000 a week, and hey presto it's City v Burton Albion in two years!

I can't tell you how happy I am that Barry didn't sign for us.

I half hoped we would sign him, but we would never pay those wages.
At 28 years old this is his swan song so i cant blame him for taking the offer.
City will be snapping up everything that has a sniff of talent this summer, and a few of them will spend a lot of time bench warming!

If he is on £130k then Ireland's new deal can't be to far off. What the hell they going to pay a genuine world class player when they get one....?

We have a secret weapon. His name, is new City reserve coach Chris Hughton. We will send clipboard a 2009/10 Spurs catalog (with the new kit with the yellow cuffs). That will be enough for MC to preempt us and sign him for 10 years. His contract will have a Danielle Lloyd clause that he can never leave until they go down.

By the way, ask any Villa fan and they will tell you he has not been by far the best player in their team, Petrov has been far better this season.

Extremelly overrated player and I was a bit disappointed he ended up at Man City and not Liverpool, would have much rather seen them scouse ****s overspend on a very overrated player.
