We've probably got about 22mln to spend 15mln (plus 7mln for gio) so who should we buy?

I personally would like:

Progbnyak (out of contract at the end of the year) 8-10mln
Jo- loan (sven saw something and was good in the olympics)
Quaresma- Cheeky loan bid  (mourinho doesnt use him)
Malbranque/N'zoghbia 5-6mln

I'd take Steed in a heart beat, but Jo has struggled in the Premiership and Quaresma is dreadful (worst player I have seen this season, including Makukula).

I'd be happy with a good left sided player and for us to just take an attitude to not try and out battle and out scrap the opponents, but to be positive and try and out play them.

None of our relegation rivals will sell to us. Cant see any obvious cast offs from the top 6. Shorey or Baines perhaps. They have to be better than BAE. Maybe Kevin Doyle or Hunt. Unless we have already set something up ( unlikely ) cant think we can bring in anyone from overseas in the one remaining working day. So Appiah may be our only other option.

Someone who can head the ball when defending set plays.
Plus someone who can head the ball when defending set plays.
Plus someone who can head the ball when defending set plays.
Plus someone who can head the ball when defending set plays.
Anything else than those four is a luxury at the moment.

alvaro negredo, i think his release clause is 12m, big man up fron but hes a goal scorer as well, and niko kranjcar, swap him for giovani who harry obviously hasnt taken a liking to. would be the answer to the left wing problem.

BAE had a poor game today, but that was possibly the worst performance by our whole back line for a very long while—possibly since the farce against the Barcodes at the Lane last season.

Shorey? Why is Luke Young currently Villa's first-choice LB? Think hard. And Baines is pretty pisspoor too.
