One of the good things about Spurs in the past few seasons is that we've always had a few break through players getting into the first team that have (more or lesss) come through our youth system. Kane, Rose, Bentaleb and Mason being the obvious ones. The usual path seems to be playing on loan for other clubs and then getting a chance via UEFA games or injuries to main players.

Of the likes of Harry Winks, Tom Carroll, Oduwa, Pritchard or Coulthirst who do you reckon?

From the pre-season highlight video's I think that Alli, Oduwa and Onomah could have breakthrough seasons. Alli may well go into the first team to replace Mason if we don't sign a new CM.

I'm going to go for Pritchard only because I've followed his exploits at Brentford & know much more about him than the others. He's a bit special, but will need to prove himself in the top flight

Pritchard is the obvious bet. Impressed in the Championship, and Pochettino has said he'll be involved in the first team squad this season.

Don't think Alli should be discussed in the same way, as our youth products as he's been bought in.

Think Winks, Onomah and Oduwa could get minutes if they don't go out on loan.

Last year I went for Pritchard and Mason. This year i'm going for Grant Ward and Nathan Oduwa. Obviously they won't be 1st teamers this season but I reckon by the start of next season we're all going to be pretty excited about them.

My tuppence:

Pritchard will probably play and play well, in which case it will be considered a breakthrough season by those outside THFC. But most who have been watching him for the last two years know what he is capable of, and fully expect him to do well. I don't know if you can classify a player who was in the Championship team of the season and one of the very few bright sparks of England's horrendous u21 tournament as a where-the-bugger-did-he-come-from breakout players.

Delle Ali is getting some rave write ups from those that have been privy to training and the behind closed doors friendlies, so assuming he gets his chance, he could be the "breakthrough."

I think it's too soon for Onomah or Winks to come into the first team in major way, although I really, really rate both. Especially Winks.

Pritchard, alli nailed on to get lots of games.
Jury might be out on carroll. Will depend on how preseason goes and ehat bids come in for him to see if he stays.
Onomah, oduwa and winks will probably get some minutes unless good loans are made for them.
Milos even though older than the other three will probably be loaned as we have 5 cb's.
Ccv may even get a loan.
Fredericks looks like he'll be sold.
Hopefully yedlin gets either a loan or some minutes.
Yahaya if he gets a work permit in december will probably be loaned out in jan.

I watched a couple of Spurs youth games about a year or two ago and the stand out performer was Kyle Walker-Peters, he maybe a bit young and will probably be to soon for him what with Trippier and Walker ahead of him, but well no ones mentioned him so here we go, he will be class.

I am also think it will be the season we see Tom Carroll come to the fore and of course Pritchard. The key thing about both these two players is they dont have the physical part of the game or pace and have had to become intelligent footballers to make it. I always prefer a thinking footballer, so few players can use their head these days.
