Spain have really gamed this though as well - premier league levels of shit housery from them, every bit of pressure is apparently a head injury now and the ref isn't helping at all

Lots of things haven’t gone England’s way, Spain have been the better side and England needed a bit of luck that never came.

What a terrible corner to throw away our last chance. That’s the sort of thing I’d expect Spurs to do in the final seconds of an important match.

It’s a shame as they’re a great side technically and they don’t need to do it. It’s one of the things I like in the women’s game over the men’s is the usual lack of gamesmanship.

Crazy that we had 13 mins of added time and Spain still managed to slow that game down by going down, taking ages on free kicks etc. The better team won though.

Spain deserved that, even with some of the dark arts. Still proud to get as far as we did, was just a step too far.

The way Europe is progressing in women’s football, i think it could be quite a while before the US wins it again.

Carried Toone through that whole game, should have swapped her for James at halftime as she was eons off the pace, made too many changes and totally fell apart. Love the grit and determination from those women they should be proud and hopefully come back stronger.

Wonder what the Spanish girls who boycotted the Spanish national team are feeling right now. They didn’t support the coach and the management and fair play to them, but what an experience to miss out on. Big price to pay, when seeing their mates coming home with a gold medal around their neck.

4 years ago under Phil Neville, prior to the World Cup, England lost to New Zealand.

I don’t think it’s a matter of if but when England will win the World Cup. I don’t think it’ll be too far away.

Spain were much better, but I'm still really pissed about the ref.

If FIFA are going to stamp down on time wasting as they are claiming this season, then they have to follow through on what they say. That was a clear second yellow for Paralluelo for kicking the ball away. We all saw that the ref was going to card her and then backed out once she realised it would mean a sending off. We then have 10 minutes of complete shithousery and time wasting from Spain.

I wouldn't have had any issue with Spain as the better team winning, but when the officials interfere in a way that completely changes the game it just really pisses me off
