I'm not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere already but with all of this anti Levy feeling due to his latest transfer window disaster I'd like to point out it is 25 years since Tottenham Hotspur FC won the FA Cup!!

I know Levy hasn't been in charge for all of those years but for a club of our stature, a 'cup team' to have not won the FA cup for 25 years is disgusting!

#Levyout.

I'd blame modern football more than levy for this i mean so many supporters now worry about champions league & how much money it could make the club than actually winning trophies nowadays & I'd still take any trophy over a league place personally

Since the Premier League was formed, the FA Cup's been won by:
Arsenal 7 times
Manchester United 4 times
Chelsea 6 times
Liverpool twice
Everton, Portsmouth, Wigan and Manchester City once each.

Not a great deal of scope for anyone outside the Sky 4/lottery winners.

Ask Wigan and Portsmouth if they agree with that....

Seriously though, only 3 teams from outside the 'big 5' have won it in that 25 year period. And two of them aren't in the premier league anymore so would presumably question the wisdom of having put too much effort into the FA Cup.

The problem is that the big teams have such massive strength in depth that even if they don't try that hard in the early stages then they can easily progress and then focus on the later rounds. It's hardly a sign of weakness that we haven't won it, although it's disappointing we haven't got closer in recent years.

Ever thought that Levy isn't really interested in us having 'cup team' stature? Levy is aiming for total world domination and is taking the necessary steps to allow our club to grow even if it is to the short term detriment of our side (which I don't think it is). Seems like a large proportion of our fans think Levy is clueless and is fucking up which I think is a pretty shocking lack of perspective.

What's worse is we haven't reached a final for 24 years, let alone won the thing. We've got a sequence of 6 S/F defeats, beyond depressing!

Being wound up by this is one reason why I want us to start taking cups seriously it above all else just look at our policy, the players would benefit so much by playing on the big stage, such as Wembley or, you never know, St. Jacob's Park....

I suppose it depends if you mean the supporters then I'd say as someone who has a lot of Portsmouth supporters in the family that they would have still took the cup win especially my uncle who passed away not long after and described it as one of the greatest days of his life but the towns, cities and the actual owners probably would take the league status over a trophy.

So us letting that happen is ok is it?

Glad so many of you agree and are also not happy to accept the fact that a club like Tottenham hasn't won the FA Cup or any trophy of real significance for 20+ years, poor attitude chaps.

Having one out and out striker in 4 competitions is not going to help this cause.

Not good enough.

Us letting it happen?

I'm a bit lost as to your thought process for this post. Are you suggesting we permitted someone other than us to win the FA Cup?

I believe there have been something like 134 FA Cup finals, we've won 8. We've "let that happen" quite a lot over the years when you think about it.

Where are you going with this.

But you're having a go at the wrong people and complaining about the wrong thing.

The problem with football today is cl and oil money scewing the market and making the bigger clubs so big it is almost impossible to compete.

You saying Sky made them winners? You realise Arsenal, Utd and Liverpool were big clubs before Sky don't you? And you know that without Sky, Ibramovic still would've purchased Chelsea don't you?
