4-4-2 - just 9 men instead of 10

Such an disaster to play 4-4-2 this season

- Two useless lumps of deadwood up front instead of one.

- vdV leavered into a position he's ineffective in, and at the expense of one our biggest threats Lennon

- Outnumbered in midfield

- Two players stood with their hands on their hips at half way while we're being mugged at the other end

How simple can it be: 4 - fucking - 5 - fucking - 1 :bang:

Harry got it right for about 15 minutes before Bale got injured, then instead of replacing like for like switches back to sticking VDV in a position who doesn't suit...:bang:

I love how despite finding this out after half time in a 4-5-1, we somehow ended up going back into a 4-4-2. Joke.

Agree with the nature of this thread, just such a bad call on Harry's part from the start and when Bale got injured. A complete joke. We needed to play a 4-3-3/4-5-1. Really not difficult to see that so I don't know how Harry can't.

The strikers have been atrocious this season our defence CB's have not been far off. Gomes has had a catalogue of clown moments.

We've blown any little chance we had tbh we don't deserve CL, if city get in good luck to them.

I don't approve of the spirit of the threat or even the original-posters right to eat breakfast unmolested...

but playing two strikers has been a disaster over the past few months... It's probably the only thing I can really criticise Redknapp for... it's baffling... unless he was somehow hoping they could burst into form (and boost their transfer values)

Play your best players in their best positions. For us, VDV has been the most effective in behind the striker in a 4-5-1.

We've been dire with both in the final 3rd all season, I'm fed of trying to distinguish which is better. We've had to keep trying new things, cos nothing has worked with them donkeys. 3 absolute no hopers. May as well have Booth and Doherty up front.

It's not really the formation I don't think, it's the personnel. We should be playing as few of Crouch/Pav/Defoe as possible because they are all poor, with tons of excellent choices for midfield.

I find it difficult to believe with all our strikers being duds we've not tried playing without them. Niko hasn't been given much of a chance and we've just looked unimaginative.
The only thing he has tried is putting Lennon on the left and Bale on the right and we all know how that worked out.
