That would be my guess...LvG may have been top of the list until the United winds started blowing. How to get Martinez out of Everton probably shelved that deal and it always felt like Rafa was a fall back consideration.

Why would he make up "I spoke with Daniel Levy and he told me that of the 5 candidates, Pochettino was the one that blew him away"?. Those were his words, there is no way he would directly state that Levy had told him this in conversation if it were not true.

Im going for Poch, FDB, Martinez, Van Gal and Benetiz. I can see Martinez being very intrested, hes a smart guy and he is going to realise that this next season coming for him is going to be massive, its going to be very difficult for him. Hopefully us and id say definitely Yanited will be better next season.
