Two seasons ago the gloom-mongers were confidently predicting we'd finish mid-table at best. We made fifth. Early in 2006 we were not only not going to lose fourth spot, we were going to finish out of the European places altogether.

And we might as well email in the CC result, according to some.

There are some sad, sad, people masquerading as supporters out there.

Its far too unpredictable, but I think we should get everyone to predict the results of these next 6 games and prove just how hard it is to guess the results (W,L,D) of a spurs game, let alone the scoreline. Then we will bump the thread and realise how wrong we were ;-)

Dont bite if someone thinks we will lose to stoke or hull!

Spurs 1 - 1 Villa
Spurs 3 - 1 Wigan
Portsmouth 2 - 0 Spurs
Spurs 3 - 0 Hull
Stoke 2 - 2 Spurs
Spurs 2 - 1 Bolton

Will be interesting...

I didn't expect us to get anything at boro or Chelsea because we haven't won a lot of game away for the last four years. In fact, from what I can remember from the stats I was looking at, we lose about half our away games so the point against Chelsea was a bonus. I did expect to beat Sunderland though so we're two points down on what I thought. The game at home to villa will be a very good test. The way the set out to counter attack we'll find it hard to break them down and have to watch out for the speed in which their forwards break. I'm being positive and going for a win.

Agree. We rarely win 3 games in a row in the prem. Regardless of Davids, Carrick, Berbs or Ginola etc etc.

Too true. I lost far too much money betting on Spurs last season. Scorelines are going to be difficult anyway, but with Spurs nigh-on impossible.
I'm sure you will redeem most of that if you keep up the good work this season. I quit gambling years ago, but I started again this season and so far won 1 and lost 2. Not a good start, huh? But I'm sure good things will come as they have started.

With the arrival of Ramos and the almost complete overhaul and upgrade of the squad our historical results have no bearing on the future.

Davids Carrick and Berbs are history so tear up the old stats.

Once settled in, the Ramos team will find their own level which I believe will put pressure on the top 4.

I don't do the scorelines but I've got down 14pts from that list. So it would be 15pts from our first 9 games which i originally had for 18pts.

Spurs v Villa - WIN
Spurs v Wigan - WIN
Pompey v Spurs - Loose
Spurs v Hull - WIN
Stoke v Spurs - WIN
Spurs v Bolton - DRAW

I've got us down for 13 points from that lot. But my head says that it might be more like 10 in the end.

Pompey will be tricky. If we can get 14 points I think that puts us on track for our target

Long way to go, anything is possible (well, except the obvious). We need to ensure Sunderland was just a one-off in terms of our home form though, as we need to make WHL a fortress as Ledley has already said a couple of times.

I always feel like a player coming out and saying "We need to make make WHL a fortress" is the kiss of death for our home form. I think it's imperative that the team comes up with a new cliche, and fast!

OK, I'm game, though I absolutely agree that it's almost impossible to predict these things and I guarantee my predictions will be way off (which doesn't bode well, as I'm predicting 14 points).

v Villa (win)
v Wigan (draw)
v Portsmouth (draw)
v Hull (win)
v Stoke (win)
v Bolton (win)

I agree. I just wish a player would get ballsy one day and say something like:

'Our has improved no end after the removal of a couple of disruptive, selfish twats and the new team attitude is we are best - fuck the rest'

on paper of course we should beat the likes of hull, wigan, stoke, bolton (home and away) but its never that simple is it?

If we beat villa i think we can get on a nice little roll, and if we get an away win again that should give us some momentum We need to start picking up wins away from home

Villa H (win)
Wigan H (win)
Portsmouth A (loss)
Hull H (win)
Stoke A (draw)
Bolton H (win)

We really need a ton of points from this set of games. If we can get a point against Villa and Pompey it really could be a good month as we can beat the rest of those teams and get 4 wins and 2 draws and walk away with 14 points and get right back into the hunt for 4th-5th.

Knowing Spurs we will get about 9 points and look great in 3 of the 6 games and look ok in 1 game and horrible in 2 games.
