Well, upon leaving the Reebok Stadium, i looked at a Bolton fan and said, 'You've just sent us down.' Since then, the turnaround has been unbelievable, and to come 8th in essentially a 30 game season is pretty remarkable if you ask me

I for one really don't care if we finish 7th. Looking back at our 2 points from 8 games saga, I was so depressed, to finish 8th has exceeded my expectations this season ! If we did not get Europe, I want Fulham to get it as I hate the Man Shitty lot and above all i hate those pikeys from EastEnders ! I love 'Arry to bits, the man deseerves a medal ! Here looking forward to 09/10 season, this time NEXT YEAR RODNEY we will finish 3rd UP THE SPURS !!!!

I will be over the moon if we nick 7th off Fulham. They have done really well this season but if we beat Liverpool at Anfield then we are worth that 7th place should Fulham fail to cement it.

What a turnaround, though. A few months ago it looked like we might need a win at Anfield to stay in the league. Now we are looking at a better than average season (for us) despite throwing 1/4 of it away.

8th would be good enough I reckon the new Europa league format means there will be 19 games between us and the cup. The revenue would be nice but, I think we will be stronger if we are competing in the league and looking for good runs in the domestic cups.

With Everton, Aston Villa and Fulham occupied by the competition whilst fighting on three domestic fronts we stand a good chance of capitalizing from their distraction. In my opinion Everton, Aston Villa and Fulham do not have the depth of squad to make a sucessful challenge for the Europa League.

I think if we continue to develop as we have done over the last 6 months we can be 5th and possibly challenge the goons for 4th.

Liverpool are still looking lethal so I can't see it, not without Palacios.

i was actually quite encouraged by the way liverpool played considering the amount of clear cut chances west brom created. if they had defoe or even bent instead of fortune they probably would have won so on the basis of that perforemence i wouldnt rule us out of a win at anfield

If it weren't for Harold Webb disallowing a Newcastle goal yesterday I'd fancy our chances.
I really want Europe next year so i think I'll be upset.

Im happy with 8th, and any other football supporter would be if they had "2 points from 8 games".

With the team we now have i honestly think we are £30m's worth of players away from a realistic top 4 challenge. Whether Harry gets bankrolled again remains to be seen but I think Levy knows when things are heading in the right direction.

I think we can do them but Pool have got 2nd place to play for, which is something, their record premiership points haul and it's their last home game of the year so I expect them to turn up.
Last season on the last day by a miracle Fulham stayed up, let's hope this year by a miracle they f**k up qualifying for Europe.
Come on Prince Phillip we need you now.

Pool will be up for it no danger - they were well up for it today too

of course there are levels of 'up for itness' -
they need a draw for 2nd place and in reality a single goal defeat will clinch that place anyway

I rate our chances of winning at about 10-1 - and Everton's chances of winning, given their forthcoming Cup Final, at about 6-1

so overall getting 7th is something like a 60-1 shot IMHO

not much chance TBH

However if 'toon toon' are 'doon doon' by this time next week that'll be a massive compensation

It's not that I hate the toon, but they are genuine (potential) rivals in a way that Fulham and West Ham aren't and seeing them weakened is a plus for us

also I'm not going to pretend - it will be funny - it's as simple as - and I know that Toon supporters on the whole would have found it funny in a vice-versa situ

Everton also have a terrible record at Craven Cottage iirc. Oh well, as long as we do well at Anfield I'm happy.

Everon will get a draw and then we will spank pool 4-0 to snatch 7th on goal diffrence

It really wouldn't surprise me too much if we got a win at Anfield, trouble is I also think Fulham will turn over Everton.

This.

Im not very confident on us finishing 7th, but if the toon go down, it will indeed be glorious compensation!!!

Everton have nothing to play for either...

5th or 6th? Theoretically it means chuff all, they're guaranteed a Europa Cup spot whatever, but there is a certain amount of kudos in being 'Best of the Rest'. The Cup may distract them, though.
