So Ledley's winning run in a Spurs shirt now goes to nine. Only conceded six in those nine games. Three clean sheets.

I struggle to express how I feel about the man. I work with someone who's career ended due to similar problems to King. He told me that King will no doubt have been told that when he's doing now will effect his quality of life as he gets older. A knee replacement is a certainty. They only last fifteen years and your body can only take two replacements on each knee.

He says that Ledley's knee will feel like a stone in a can of coke after a game. The image that conjures up is unreal. Horrible.

He's the best centre half I've seen in my time watching football. I only whisper that now unless I'm surrounded by Yids because I'm ridiculed for it. But this current run he's on is waking others up to it.

He's a one club man and that is too rare nowadays.

Singing we've got Ledley at the back. Brilliant player, so sad about the constant injuries. The stability and confidence he brings to the side is phenomenal. Terry and ferdinand would not have that many caps if his knees were not crocked. And Maidrid or Barca would have bought him 5 years ago!!!

Good post mate. We will look back at him as one of Tottenham's greatest ever players, so let's enjoy him now.

Such a rock rarely ever makes a mistake and improves everyone who plays around him!

Oh Ledley, Ledley, he's only got one knee, he's better than John Terry, oh Ledley, ledley!

He is fantastic and is a true Spurs legend. He is the best centre back I've ever seen play.

If he could train he'd be the best centre back in the world.
If he could train he'd be at Barcelona. Although, I wouldn't begrudge him that.

He is the most naturally gifted centre-back of his generation. If he and Woodgate had been fully fit throughout their careers John Terry wouldn't have got more than 20 caps for England, as he wouldn't have been able to break up the trio of King, Woodgate and Ferdinand.

Watched a couple of old games recently (think Anthony Gardner era) and we all think Ledley is still great now, but he just glided along at wicked speeds in those days. with a calm assurance on the ball that would make Zizou jealous.

Could've been one of the greats of the game... Will just have to settle for being a Spurs legend.

That is the real shame about it, as he is so good he deserves to go down as one of the greats

Fantastic performance again yesterday. For me he's the most talented player at the club. I know we have players like Modric and VDV, but I don't think it's possible for King to do a better job in his position than he does...and he does it all the time.

Amazing player.

Excellent description, reminds me of the great West Indian bowler Michael Holding, they both make it look effortless.

After Newcastle, he should be rested and let Bassong play the following game.

He really should not, we need to keep him playing once a week to ensure he doesn't do a hamstring or something, just because he hasn't been able to train for a couple of weeks.

My Dad has been watching Spurs since the year dot and says Ledley's the greatest centre-half he's ever seen play the game. He also says he's probably the only player from recent years who would walk into the double side.

As for the bolded bit, I say it loud and proud to anyone within earshot whenever I get the chance, no matter what their reply (and the usual reaction is people bursting into laughter). I quite happily point out that far from being funny, it's actually a tragedy for English football that Ledley ha been so injured, that he's the best defender of his generation and their reactions only highlight their own ignorance of the game. That usually shuts people up.

I'm with you (and your dad) on this one Bobbins. Ledley-King-of-White-Hart-Lane, is something very special. Maurice Norman was great, so was Mike England and there are others from other sides over the 50-odd years I've been watching football who were fantastic too, but Ledley gets my vote.

The energy and effort put in by this man who is unable to train, yet goes on and on playing and fearlessly giving 100%, is unique in my experience.

Long may this unbroken run of games continue. Ledley is a true legend.

He used to have deceptive pace about as well before, remember the tracking back and last ditch tackles like the one on I think it was robben? Now he has lost some of that understandably due to fitness but his awareness is so good he just adapts his game and all this with no training involved?!! It defies logic is certainly a freak of nature and for me it will be a very sad day when he hangs up his boots, along with Gary mabbut propably my favourite player and most committed in my lifetime..
