A hypothetical question

This might seem obvious based on logical analysis but I'm interested to know what people think.

We're currently sixth in the league, with Chelsea, City, Arsenal, Utd and Liverpool above us. Let's assume the table will be the same at the end of the season. If the top five teams were taken out of the league and replaced by the top five Championship sides, do people think we'd win the league next year?

Surely we'd be favourites to win given our relatively consistent league positions in recent years. Would we buckle under the pressure or would we demonstrate that we're legitimately better than the rest of the league?

I think we'd win it, but we wouldn't make it easy on ourselves. This is Tottenham, after all.

Everton and Southanpton would probably have something to say about it as well.

I'd rather win it by beating the 5 teams that you've mentioned as well though.

If you removed Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea... Would wenger still aim for fourth?

Naturally we would be leading all season and throw it away in the last few games. I believe the term is now designated "spursy".

Levy will think it's a cakewalk and instead of investing further in the team, goes on a selling spree.:)

I think we all know what would happen.

We'd finish fifth.

The same top five in Prem / top five in Championship swap would take place, with Arsenal, Chelsea, United, Liverpool, and Oil Money all going back into the Prem, and us going into the Championship.

We'd finish fifth in the Championship, only for the FA to decide that only the top four in the Championship would go into the Prem, but now replacing the bottom four in the Prem....leaving us in the Championship.

The FA would then scrap the whole thing and form a breakaway Prem that we are unable to get into.
