Yeah, I like that too. Bit like mine, but not so innovative :) My only trouble with it is where will we find this new top-class AM? There aren't many about and the good ones are in huge demand.

Ronaldinho?

Seriously though, Afellay, Jimenez (only on loan at Inter), Steven Defour(http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/clubfootball/news/newsid=676963.html).

I'm not saying any of these would definatly be a hit, I'm no proffesional scout, I'd like to see us sign someone with real potential though, and not just for the ressies like Rose or Peckhart.

Keane Lennon and an attacking Midfielder all in the center? abit too much  though you did say they could pull wide, but then the fullbacks are coming up as well!

Thats the point its so interchangable. Keane is a natural striker so he's likely to get forward alongside Berba quite a bit, which will open up space for the AM to move into, allowing one of the DM's to move up. Like wise if Lennon moves out wide the AM can move into the space he leaves and theres another option for Lennon to pull it back to him instead of crossing into the box.

Just reading that Defour article I noticed this:

One thing you cannot say about Defour, therefore, is that he lacks character. "He's a fighter, he's got the fire within him. If the team is going through a bad spell he never hides, even though he's only a youngster," said Ariel Jacobs, Genk's director of football back in 2005.

"On the contrary, he seems to step up his presence, always looking for the ball and trying to keep his team-mates' morale up." Former Belgium international Marc Wilmots agreed: "Steven has broad enough shoulders to be captain, even if he is only 19."

Thats exectly what I'd be looking for at Spurs right now. Get rid of that ponce Jenas!

Prepared to be shot down in flames for this, but ...

Was just thinking about next season's best line-up/likely formations. Wonder if Juande would ever consider this:

Goalie

Woody King
Zok

Hutton New DM Bale
Hudd JJ

Keane Berba

Before anyone mentions the dreaded word wing-back, I'm thinking of Hutton and Bale more as wing-forwards. It's a mental thing, I guess, but I want to see them bombing up the wings, supplying crosses, pinning back the opposing full-backs most of the time. These two are very fit and will run non-stop - think they're ideally suited for the role. Zokora plays the combo CB/DM role he's already proving good at, with a license to burst forward at the appropriate moment. The new DM (I'm sure there will be one, and I'm expecting a world-class name in there - think Gattuso or Makelele of a few seasons ago in terms of style, if perhaps not quite that level of quality). Hudd will come back and collect the ball sometimes but will primarily be supplying the forward creativity. There's plenty of protection for the (new?) goalie. There's width, pace, blah blah. I honestly think this may be the best use of existing players, and makes a virtue out of the fact that we're not that strong in terms of wide midfielders. Don't suppose JR will go for it, but does anyone else agree this would be a strong and versatile line-up?

Interesting post, but it is based on little/no change of personnel.

I don't see our current personnel staying the same, so until that is finalised, I really can't see how any formation can be worked out now. Although I do fear another 'Ardiles', with that team, playing in that way......... Eek
