In thinking about it, it's a tough one. We are on the verge of properly moving up to the next level. By that I mean regular CL and potential PL contenders.

The problem is that we don't have to stadium or the unlimited funds if the teams above to achieve this.

The last team who were on the cusp we Everton and they couldn't keep pace and fell back.

We are still on the cusp, and while we are still on the cusp, there is always a chance.

I don't agree mate. I also think you incorrectly group CL qualification with (potentially - what does this exactly mean) winning the PL. Two vastly different things and worlds apart.

The next level in terms of CL qual, is the level we were at previously, so it's not like a monumental achievement now. However in that time we've lost 3 world class players that haven't been replaced with like for like.

As for a PL title. No chance, that's several levels and several billion £'s above us.

The mid season window is nowhere near as viable as the summer window for buying quality players.

Nearly all clubs are trying to reach Europe spots or trying to keep clear of relegation issues.

Summer is a totally different prospect and also a much longer window to sell buy sell.

The summer window is indeed much longer but for us it doesn't matter as we don't do anything until the final day plus either summer or winter we will get to deadline day and not get what we want or need.

Same shit different window I'm afraid and nothing is going to change until we get better owners.

Dawson should stay. Gallas won't go on for much longer and with our constant injury problems in defence we are going to need him next season.

we'll need him unless we purchase another defender from a club such as ajax who is more suited to The System

I really hope we get Fryers in Jan so we can allow Verts to play centre back (is Assou-Ekotto ever coming back???).

It's shown we really lack depth at left back (Naughton is a right-back and should be used at right-back).

We need another midfielder in the Moutinho-style as Dembele and Parker being injured has shown our lack of depth there.

And a centre forward.

AVB's preferred formation is 4-3-3 so this would allow:

Lloris

Walker Caulker Vertoghen Fryers

Moutinho Sandro Dembele

Lennon Adebayor Bale

I thought the transfer window starts on 31 August so it's not as long as people think.

I think we might need a WF as well as I'm not convinced that Lennon can play as one in a 4-3-3. Agree with all the others though.
