Kick Out for breaking FFP rules between 2015 and 2017 but I'm sure I read an article saying they are taking this ban to avoid a longer banned due to there current spending levels and it postpones the accounting period that needs to be checked for compliance.

I heard that they took it because they would rather be banned for europa. If they had appealed and lost it would be the season after their ban would be upheld meaning possibly missing out on cl.

AC Milan have spent £340m (https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ac-mailand/alletransfers/verein/5 ) in the last 2 summer transfer windows and only recouped £110m. If they can remove one of those years from being included it will allow them to spend this year.

But only the last 3 they have been playing in Europe. This summer now doesn't count.

Not as far as i'm aware.

You are right that Uefa have agreed to drop proceedings against milan for 2016-18. But they will still have to be compliant when they next qualify for europe.

Absolute joke. Blatant disregard for the rules and makes a mockery of any restrictions.

Basically do what you want and take a year on the naughty step.

UEFA have now made this standard procedure with this decision.

Should have been a 5 season ban. Any team can now spend obscene amounts, put their hands up and take a years exclusion. Which also puts them in a stronger position in their domestic league as they have now not any European commitments.

Where is the fear/disencouragememt in disregarding the rules in the future.

The bar has now been set.

No the bar was set by the cas when milan had their previous ban overturned.
Uefa can't dish out any penalties they wish. It would just end up in court and they would lose.
City are appealing a decision that hasn't even been made yet to the cas.

What's more, UEFA can't easily make tougher rules for CAS to enforce without them running into conflict with regulations preventing anti-competitive measures in the EU.

And they have to get the clubs to agree to the rule changes.

If they get the boot then Arsenal might get their spot

I doubt it will be settled by the start of the new season. City are already appealing the decision to the cas even though the decision hasn't been made yet. Any ban will probably be for the season after.

Juventus / PSG / Man City all clubs that have put two fingers up to sponsorship and FFP rules and will continue to do so .
Trust me these clubs rich with arab oil money care nothing for rules and are only interested in total domination and will I believe ruin the game we all love and will inevitably lead to a super league.
I include Chelsea in this group of care nothing for rules clubs.
Newcastle could be the next club to be in there little circle no doubt once the arab oil owners start spending and they will be considered part of the super league.
A fairer way would be to separate the clubs with no balancing of the books to worry about because of untold wealth from the ones that have organic income and must balance books and the competition would be fairer.
I know that money has always been god but other rich clubs like Man unt / Liverpool / Barca / Real Madrid have earned the right to spend big because of the many years of success has brought them a massive fan base leading to their wealth.
Others like Spurs have earned there wealth on clever management.
It is the oligarchs and oil rich owners that are distorting things and making it impossible to compete
They care nothing for the good of the game there only aim is domination and sod the consequences.
Note Juventus willing to pay a transfer fee and £400.000 a week for a player .
No one not Real not United not Barca not Liverpool and certainly not Spurs are going to be able to compete with that.
