Beating Sporting 2-1 in the final

Pekhart scored first, they equalised and I think Ryan Mason made it 2-1 in the second half.

Only news on this so far is in French on the tournament's official page - http://www.tifm.ch/

Jake Livermore got our second

Our Academy squad beat Sporting Lisbon 2-1 to win the Tournoi International de Football de Monthey in Switzerland on Sunday.
This latest triumph means the lads have won twice and been runners-up once in three major youth tournaments this season - winning the Eurofoot in Belgium in August, finishing second in the Dusseldorf International in March and now taking top honours in Monthey.
Tomas Pekhart opened the scoring in the final, the Portuguese side levelled but Jake Livermore struck the winner in the second half.
Coach Alex Inglethorpe reported: "We went ahead in about the 10th minute, Tomas Pekhart managed to work a yard of space in the box, controlled a cross from the right and then finish.
"They equalised just before half-time and then midway through the second half Jake Livermore scored from outside the box and that was the winner.
"We've beaten some of the best youth sides in Europe here and beaten them in a style we can all be very proud of."
After unluckily losing to Real Murcia their opening group game on Wednesday, the lads reeled off four victories in four days against FC Sion, Sevilla, Eintract Frankfurt and finally Sporting Lisbon to bring home the trophy.
Spurs: Button, Smith, Hutchins, Kasim, Martin, Butcher, Rose (Hutton, 45), Livermore, Pekhart (Olsen, 65), Mason, Townsend. Unused subs: Jansson, Mtandari, Obika, Fraser-Allen.

We already have a thread on the tournament started when they got to the semis so these may be merged, but again, congratulations guys!

he is a Tottenham LB.

Therefore as I said in another thread he will definitely be suffering from 'the curse'

That Alex Inglethorpe's very highly rated, isn't he?

The academy's rise in fortunes seems to have coincided with his appointment.

Well here's my translation of the French site:

Tottenham Hotspur have mastered it at the first attempt. In its first entry into the International Tournament at Monthey (a competition that has been going for 20 years) this English team has come away with the trophy. The English won the cup 2-1 after a final against Sporting of Portugal. Alex Inglethorpe’s men showed ruthlessness, converting two of their four chances in an interesting technical encounter, which was played out at a fantastic rhythm. Czech under-21 international Tomas Peckhart (15mins) gave Tottenham the initial advantage before Marco Matias equalised just before the half-hour mark (29mins). Having dominated proceedings at the end of the first half, the Lusitanians were caught unawares after the break by the captain of the British lads, Jake Livermore, who was quick to profit from the dummy of Ryan Mason (51mins). In spectacular scenes, the final push from the Portuguese didn’t actually change anything at all apart from serving to further deepen the disappointment of the fans (1700 in attendance) who were nearly all from Sporting. The ref, Guido Wildhaber, refereed on this occasion for the final time in his fruitful career. Article continues to talk about 3rd place play off…

A winning mentality is something good to have, at every level. Let's hope we can - like Man Utd before - have a bunch of talented kids all blossoming at the same time!

How do they compared to the Chelsea and Man City youth teams? they were the two teams who contested the FA youth cup final so I assume the strongest two sides currently.
