Yeah, but is he a Levy signing? Certainly seems to have the hallmarks, young, full of potential, full of resale value. But at what cost?

Exactly, Willian was wanted by AVB at Chelsea before his price went up. If this is an AVB signing it could easily be a star player in the making.

Erm, if we're talking about a hefty transfer fee I would be quite alarmed ... yes he was voted young player of the year but the standard in Holland is awful ...

If we can get him for around £5m then great, anything around/in excess of £10m would be pure madness.

Maher would be a quality signing, reminds me of a young Van der Vaart

Man City, Barcelona and Milan were all linked to him in the summer

Mertens is a winger so cannot compare them

I agree that Verts is a quality player but he's established and very experienced. Maher on the other hand has only played 40 odd 1st team games.

I'm not saying he personally is worth a stab, I just don't buy into the argument that if a league standard is poor then no good players can come from there. As long as clubs scout thoroughly then a great player can come fom anywhere on the planet.
