I would have reacted the same way as he did, never being near the lane myself, it would be an overwhelming experience! COYS

Wasn't sure about his chants; pretty sure he sang 'when the Spurs come marching in'

But nice to see a foreign fan with real passion for the club.

Really good video, thanks! Lovely to see such passion abroad! Always assumed the states were all Man Utd. (Apart from Steve Nash)

When I last went a couple of years ago, Chelsea and Man Utd were the only EPL shirts I saw in shops - Barcelona and Real were the other ones, aside from the MLS teams.
Japan is full of Man Utd Liverpool fans esp in Tokyo
Malaysia is the same
South Africa was full of the above but also Chelsea and Arsenal supporters.

In early '95 I moved to northern California for 6 months and after 2 days was out wandering around in my Spurs shirt.
Walked past a couple and the guy commented "wow, a Spurs fan out here!"

If someone asked me to come up with a photo-fit description of what your 'typical' Tottenham fan looked like it would look just like him.

Late 30s, dark hair, average height, bit of a scruffy shadowy beard going on, quite a bit overweight from eating too much sh*te fast-food on match days (washed down with several bottles of overpriced Carlsberg), likes the talk ('know what I mean'), and a bit Jewish looking, but not quite as much as that David Baddiel fella'.

He is jewish but not religous, im guessing as he downs every bit of pork in his way.

Everyone seems to be very forgiving that he also supports another team whose fans hate us.

Its funny how some of us Yanks chose a club. I lived in London and Surrey from 1978-1983 when my dad worked in London, and I was a teenager. I remember one of the first things I did with my first new friend was go see Star Wars at a cinema on Tottenham Court Road. Later, when it came time to chose a club, Im sure I remembered the awe I felt going to Star Wars on my own in big London on Tottenham Court Road (not knowing it had nothing to do with THFC), and I remember thinking the name "Hotspur" was really, really cool. So I decided Tottenham Hotspur was the club for me. And of course this was not long before we had a good run of success. Then I moved back to the States and didnt think much about Spurs for 20 years until satellite TV allowed me to re-connect. Whats interesting to me is that my attachment to Spurs now surpasses any other sporting attachment I have. My NFL team - the Oilers - up and moved to Tennessee. Baseball and Basketball cant hold my attention anymore. Not even my alma mater, the University of Texas Longhorns, affects me the way Spurs do.

I know, had this out with him on Twitter ages ago (not in an unpleasant way).
I basically said, "look, you know West Ham hate and abuse us in pretty much the most vile ways possible, and I know you're a Bulls fan but Thierry Henry is an Goon ****." He wasn't very receptive and didn't get the rivalry thing at all. Oh well... :cautious:
His TV show's good though, and yes although Jewish he definitely eats pork by the pound from some of the episodes I've seen. Won't make old bones that one, some of the challenges he takes on give me chest pains just looking at them.

I moved out to Oz 7 years ago and still pine for the Lane, it's pretty much the only thing I miss from England.

There's just something about the Lane that holds you spellbound. I loved getting into the ground early just to soak it in. For 30 years I went there and NEVER lost the feeling of awe I had when the Old Man took me for the first time aged 5.

Somehow I think the guy is quite a bit less of a spammer after his visit. He got to kiss the UEFA Cup, Cup Winners Cup and FA Cup, soak in the legend of Bill Nick and experience one of the oldest and most history laden grounds in Football.

At the Spam he'd get to kiss the FA Cup and a bit of crockery then get a claret & Blue dildo as a keepsake!

The Lane is a savage little ground. One of the last remaining grounds with a real character. Remember talking a Pool fan after a game about 3 or 4 yrs back. First time he'd ever been. He thought it would be a bit like "Woodison" but was mightily impressed.

As necessary as it is for the club to continue to grow, it's going to be an incredibly sad day when the Lane is flattened.

RE: him supporting other teams, esp. Spam - it's annoying but not as half annoying as overseas fans who adopt a pose of hating rival clubs to fit in and be cool. So many go overboard. The most important thing is that he loves Spurs. He's probably better off for leaving all the hate and angst well enough alone anyway.

I agree with you about the hate and angst. A few years ago I found that the only reason I had to hate Arsenal was that they weren't giving me any reasons to hate them any more.

I suppose I just can't understand how people can support more than one team. I have soft spots for other clubs but have no real emotional attachment like I do for Spurs. Can you really support two clubs properly? I'm not sure... What happens when they play one another? Then again, I manage to love both my kids the same amount so I suppose it is possible.

well if you go back 50 plus years there were plenty who supported both spurs and arsenal (so they could go to a game a week). Even bill nic has referred to his admiration for them in interviews.

I dunno. I'm a huge gridiron fan myself. As a Miami alum, I have a natural antipathy for FSU in particular. However, despite my supporting those lovable losers the Bengals, I feel no real sense of hatred for the Steelers, Ravens or Browns. Then again I don't have to listen to the obnoxious talk radio hosts daily. So I can completely understand his detachment. I agree though about the multiple teams things, I would hardly follow the Colts as well.

The club should let him do a challenge at half time one day, how many pies and burgers he can eat. Can you imagine? ADAM ADAM ADAM ADAM! Nice video though seems a nice guy.

Anyone reckon Adam Richman is a secret member of S.C. ?

If not , how do we get him to sort it out ?
