The question is: do you want us to sign Adama Traore? As many as are of that opinion say

Wolves would be wise to sell him. He won’t score many goals in their side and they’re lacking goals as it is. They could use the money to strengthen with a few more Mendes players

That's not true. I've taken several scouting/football data courses and they always state that you need to use your eye as well. It isn't a case of looking at who pumps out the most numbers. It can help and can be decisive but the clubs often weigh everything up. If they aren't then you can run into problems.

Yeah listening to Jonathan Woodgate on carra podcast and he was talking about scouting for Liverpool and he was saying when he was asked to scout they would look at really specific things such as body shape when receiving a cross and other things of that nature. Very much things not quantifiable by data.

The only question you should be asking yourself if youre undecided on Traore is this...

If he been playing for us today against Watford, do you think we'd have beaten them by more than 1-0?

Its a resounding 'yes' from me. So I want him to sign for us.

You can say the same had Lucas been playing or perhaps Gil.

I dont disagree, but we're talking about Traore.

True but don't think we need to spend 40m on him when we need more a passer in the middle. Like I've said, I see the benefit in Traore totally but we have players similar to him whereas we need an eriksen type player in the middle.

Agree mate.

Data can supplement an ‘eye test’ of a player but it should never replace it or superceede it’s importance.

I also ranked in the top top 0.1% of fpl out of 7million players last year and didn’t use a single bit of data, purely all based on watching absolutely tons and tons of football, people who know football can tell a player, you don’t need stats to show a player.

In Traore’s case he causes so much panic to defences, teams have to double up on him constantly and opens up space, yes he could do with improving his end product mainly shooting technique and decision making but it’s at a pretty decent level already and if he opened up space like that and gave lay offs to son and Kane in that much space they’d bang in tons of goals from his assists.

He’s not perfect but he’s absolutely be an upgrade on Bergwijn/Lucas.

I think we need both.

Traore is literally Lucas, Bergwijn, etc on turbo charged steroids.

He would leave that pitch with 4 assists on his name if it was Kane and Son instead of Raul and Trincao, enough with this “no end product” madness

Thought he ran riot against Man Ure today. I’d love to get him but Wolves have had a bad start so it’s unlikely they’d get rid of their best attacking outlet.
We’ve got quite a few wide attacking options but I don’t think anyone on our books stacks up to what he offers.

The more I see him and the more I think his lack of assists isn't his fault. Not for the first time today he made lots of good runs. Created chances and space out of nothing. Only for his team mates to miss the chances.

JUST GET IT DONE PLEASE DON FABIO ???

Anyone who can make Pogba look like a little child gets my vote!! ?

The dude is effing scary. Maybe… just maybe…. He’s gone up a gear this season.

Right now, I’d give our window a solid C+ based on what we have and who has gone so far.

Bring in this chap, and at the very least another midfielder and it’s a solid A.

We all love players that make us excited when they’re on the ball. Remember Bale in his last season? Whenever he got on the ball, you always felt something magical could happen. I know Traore is no Bale. But he sure is fun to watch.
