The question is: do you want us to sign Adama Traore? As many as are of that opinion say

Mundo deportivo also said yesterday that Bryan Gil hates England and wants to leave and then got called out on it by Gil himself.

They can't sign Morata either who would surely be a bigger target than Traore.
Not to mention the supposed promises being made to Kessie

This guy is a very good source.

ADAMA TRAORÉ returns to Barça, except for an unexpected twist. The club closes the assignment of the Wolves winger until the end of the season in good condition for the club.

Operation outside of what happens with Dembelé

Yep if it's coming from him then I'd be very surprised if he didn't join them.

Something to take note of here is Barca are only restricted to how much they can spend on wages as far as a I know. I do wonder with how they are still doing deals, if those restrictions include money paid to agents for getting these players in???

If rumours of Bartomeu are true he was signing off deals where the money didnt exist and probably why they've ended up being $1b in debt. I think its clear if they were a private/public company they would have been bankrupt years ago.

My understanding is that the amount Spanish clubs can spend on wages is linked to revenue over a defined period (that was massively impacted by Covid) as well as penalties for other discretions. As a result Barca have a ridiculously low ceiling this season (wage bill < 100M Euros), much lower than Real Madrid (wage bill can be > 500M euros this season). Mainly as real Madrid had not made any significant signings in the preceding two years.

This one does feel like it's slipping away....

Makes you wonder if we would have encountered the same problems had we made a real push early in the window. If Mendes is playing a part in both the Diaz and Traore deals though does it suggests we're happy or have at least accepted the decision to move on from Traore also?

Nothing would surprise me with Barca. Thought they were in grave financial danger and then not only did they sign someone they signed someone for £50m.

Should have had this wrapped up two weeks ago or moved on.

Not looking forward to watching Doherty and Emerson fight it out at RWB for the rest of the season.

No doubt.

My point is though are these agents convincing their players to go there on reduced wages with promises of bigger contracts at some point but still collecting huge fee's them self for doing so.

If Romero says it then it’s as good as done.

What I don’t understand is how though? They have to get rid of a player to register a new one, and Dembele isn’t leaving until the end of the season. So who else are they loaning/selling? All very strange.

Ah well, glad it’s not us messing around that’s ruined it and him having his head turned.

Could they offset wages with a larger signing on fee? For example pay Traore £20k a week but give him x million up front?

I hope we have other genuine RWB options to turn to. I worry losing out to Adama will make us stick with Doherty and Emerson which isn't ideal.

I think he would be of been good for us and was pretty excited to be honest.

But if Conte has stronger preferences then that's absolutely cool.

If it turns our we land no one and haggled too much then real criticism is totally justified.

Glongari who appears to be reliable for Spurs is saying we are in for Cambiasso at Genoa who plays left back and right back. Sorry bit off topic but relates to position

A deal like this should've been done rather quickly Trix. I respect your opinions but we've tried loan to buy, haggled over fee etc. The delay appears to have allowed Barca to seize in and take him no?
As I posted yesterday from what I've been hearing all along(and have posted elsewhere more than once) it wasn't us delaying it mate, we were happy to pay the fee. Mendes was sorting replacements and moving pieces of his jigsaw to accommodate the deal, which was holding it up. I posted on here weeks ago that the Mendes Merry go round was heating up, because that supposedly was what was enabling this deal to go through. It was never a financial issue.

Nobody has a clue what Barca are doing behind the scenes, everyone is like 'but Barca can't sign anyone', a bit like oh Juventus can't afford Vlahovic.

These super clubs find a way. On the pitch success is everything to them. They are run differently.

They have probably agreed a loan until the summer on favourable terms, with a larger fee agreed for the summer to compensate. Just kicking the can further down the road and topping up their debt.
