The question is: do you want us to sign Adama Traore? As many as are of that opinion say

A couple of counter points that folk might not have considered.

- He commands teams to cater for him in regards to doubling up. They can’t go one on one with him as very few can handle him. That pushes teams out of shape and opens up gaps elsewhere, particularly on the other wing if we switch play to the left quickly. We clearly have better players than wolves, so can take advantage of the opposition being out of shape.

- We’ve been hearing that the plan might be Tomiyasu playing a more rigid and non attacking right back role and letting Reguilon push further up the pitch. This would help Traore on the right, as we could essentially allow him to stay high, thus always being an outlet for counters which is his undoubted strength. Would force oppositions think if it was worth it trying to double up on Tomiyasu when attacking knowing Traore is one through ball away.

Anyway, just thinking out load. These were the first two things that jumped into my head when I saw the links.

Shame if this isn't true, would absolutely love to see him on our RW in a 4-3-3! A bit inconsistent sure but would scare the hell out of teams defences and open up so much space for other players. Imagine Adama and Sonny running at your on a counter attack, absolute flames.

The guy has had all of the big-name managers in the league either petrified of him/wanting to buy him.

Gotta be doing something right eh?

Klopp: "Adama is unplayable right now"

Pep: "He is a motorcycle! It’s almost impossible. Nobody can handle this pace.”

Mourinho: “You cannot think about him as an individual, you have to think about him as a whole. Of course, he’s very, very difficult to stop. He’s so fast and so fast and powerful that he’s very difficult to stop."

Tuchel: He was apparently very keen on signing him back in June according to The Telegraph

Fraudteta: “I always saw incredible potential and that he could develop and evolve certain areas of his game. He was unstoppable to play at times."

Ole: “Traore and Jimenez are always difficult to play against. They are very good players.”

Poch: "Traore is a player who is very problematic and can put us in very difficult situations."

He is the most over-rated player in world football.
Don't think he is tbh, sure his end product can be improved but his pace and physicality and running with the ball are unplayable and he's only 25 still, he's steadily improved year on year and has had a lot of injury set-backs which have stopped him getting regular run of games.

I think if we had him RW in a 4-3-3 for us he'd be devestating playing with better players than he is now and we'd have such a good array of different wide options then with him, sonny, bergwijn, gil, lucas etc.

I watch Traore and see Lennon on Roids’.

For me, it’s a no. Next…

Lennon was a better contributor to the game. Traore can’t shoot, cross or pass very well at all. At least Lennon was decent at passing and chipped in with a few goals here or there

Not convinced.

Maybe my memory is blurred, but I remember a pacey wide man who would knock the ball on the outside and smash a cross across the box, in more hope then judgment.

He would typically ‘drag’ most of his end product; shots and passes.

Hence me likening him to Traore.

Not the most intelligent but one of the most exciting, undefendable players in world football. When your team is playing crap he's exactly the kind of player you'd want on the bench. While his numbers aren't great it's also important to remember that Wolves just shut games out for 60 minutes and then relied on their front three to do almost all of their attacking. With better/more attacking players around him he'd be lethal. People saying they'd rather we stuck with Lucas are showing a lot of recency bias. I remember him coming on almost every game and changing nothing until the back end of the season. Sure 45 million is a bit much but I'd bloody love a proper rapid winger like him back at Spurs.

I've always been critical of Traore for his output in terms of goals and assists but as mentioned above by @Teegart , he'll instantly have the opposition making plans for him and doubling up before the match even begins.

Imagine a front three of Son, Kane & Traore. Either one of them or two are being left unmarked as no doubt Traore would be double marked, leaving Son or Kane to do the business.

I think for the right price, he would be a good signing but I wouldn't have the expectation he would be coming in to score a serious amount of goals and assists. He would be there to do a role for the team and if being requested to bomb down the right at any chance he gets, he'll be great at it.

We're signing him so he can transition to the American Football team when the franchise begins.

We'll then have the first football/American football hybrid player.

I am not a fan of Traora but we are weak on the right for pace.

I get that - my point was we could sell Stevie for £25m, and buy Traore for 40

15 difference

With that logic we can put 40-45 on Kulusevski and get a world beater that has had two top seasons in Serie A without any big dips like Traore has.
